SlingMedia Inc. specializes in audio and video placeshifting technology. Their famous “SlingBox” gives you the luxury in being able to use your home cable service any where as long as there is an active internet connection. Streaming your live television on any computer was made simple and easy. Even changing the channels on both your PC and cable box simultaneously was created possible. Now SlingMedia has entered the BlackBerry market, where all 3G/WiFi capable devices have a SlingBox application that lets you watch television streaming at the palm of your hand.
PROS: Quality is superb, audio is very loud and clear. Lets you change channels while the home user is watching his/her own stations. Application is very easy to navigate with its built in remote functionalities.
CONS: When in a moving vehicle (switching tower to tower), SlingPlayer will buffer for a few seconds before resuming what you were watching. Mobile Application costs $29.99 which seems inconvenient after dropping $100+ on the SlingBox unit already.
