BlackBerry Bold to replace 8830 on the Sprint Network
by The PocketBerry Team
Engadgetmobile: We’re hearing from a source — a source who’s pegged big stuff before, we’d like to add — that Sprint will be replacing its BlackBerry 8830 this quarter with a CDMA version of the Bold. The move would certainly make sense, seeing how the Bold is essentially a direct replacement for the 8800 series (though this could be bad news for those who appreciate the 8830′s camera-less nature) and the handset’s probably just about due for a refresh. We’re told that the Bold will feature EV-DO Rev. A, more memory, and a revised UI to match Sprint’s current corporate branding.

Exciting news to Sprint and I guess Verizon customers soon enough. Having it EV-DO will disappoint many BlackBerry Storm customers if it comes out soon enough after Sprint’s release!
Before we get off track, what happens to the business BlackBerry user who favors the 88xx series? Not every corporation lets you have a a camera phone. Many will come out and answer that the 87xx is still to date being used. Others will argue saying that it is a complete different device, not even close to the 88xx series. So the big question that comes to mind: Can the Bold 9000 replace the 8830?
