Congrats to Qtel in Qatar for now atlast equipping their services with BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service).  Qtel is looking to double the number of BlackBerry users now by enabling the service.  It seems quite a downfall to have your BlackBerry with no actual BIS or BES equipped along with it.  Customers will definitely be a lot happier, and the demand for push emailing is high in Qatar as many large companies and businesses do exist their in world trade, and definitely are in need for email on the go.

“The BlackBerry Internet Service solution allows our customers to be connected anywhere and anytime with a package of services that offers tremendous value for money. This further illustrates Qtel’s commitment to offering a full range of advanced mobile communications services and applications to our customers,” said Khalid Abdulla Al Mansouri, Executive Director of Business Solutions of Qtel.

BIS service is QAR 150 ($42.37) for one-off registration fees, and monthly fee is QAR 125 ($35.31).  Qtel offers the 8120, 8310, 8320, & 8820, obviously favoring the WiFi devices.

Their website is very easy to navigate and offers very simple user friendly methods of setting up email features on your BlackBerry and many other useful tips & tricks.
