Microsoft criticizes Obama’s BlackBerry usage
by The PocketBerry Team
How expected of Microsoft to give in their two cents on Obama and his usage. It is quite a slap in the face when Obama favors his BlackBerry over his Windows enabled smartphone given to him. Microsoft argues that it is not safe for the President to be using his RIM device as his data is travelling outside the country to transmit and is not safe at all. Outside the country being Canada of course.
“We wouldn’t want the casual musings or official communications of the most important person in the world being intercepted by others,” said Randy Siegel of Microsoft. And you wouldn’t want him using anything that is not Microsoft branded either Randy.

All we’re saying is that he already has this super-encryption on his device, and it that wasn’t enough. He stated he was using it to talk to a few friends (selected ones) and a few senior members, and that still wasn’t enough either. The man needs to be left alone to use whatever device he feels suits him.
The story goes on in the Wall Street Journal of how their Microsoft based device is a lot safer to use and so forth. It runs on CDMA and GSM wireless networks, as well as Wi-Fi which is also impressive. The Edge is a smart phone that secures voice as well as data use. It was certified by the NSA in December 2007 but didn’t become available until this month, and the 12-ounce device costs about $3,350. So it’s not so much your typical user friendly device available at a local T-Mobile store.
