Available in stores and the online website, the BlackBerry Curve 8320 is available for AT&T wireless atlast. As T-Mobile has had this device for over a year, it doesn’t give us much excitement. Hearing news about the 8900 keeps us at the edge of our seats, counting the days for a press release. Instead we have been “rewarded” with a WiFi capable Curve (rather than the GPS equipped 8310 curve AT&T has been provided. T-Mobile already has the rumor to have the 8900 Curve sometime in February, as AT&T will have to sit and wait on this one. Should AT&T customers really complain even if the Bold 9000 was released? The answer is yes. We will always stay BlackBerry hungry.

So you’re not satisfied with your current Bold battery. Not a problem. Seidio has released an extended 3500mAh battery. The battery is slightly bigger than the original and unfortunately you cannot use your original back cover. On the brightside it does come with a back cover that will fit the phone perfect. The phone then becomes only 6mm thicker which isn’t even of inconvenience.

The overseas international carrier Orange is considering to drop the BlackBerry Bold completely due to technical issues that are continually occurring. They have an extremely high rate of returns for the device, says corporate.

I guess we were all waiting for the day a state specifically banned text messaging rather than just cell phone use while operating an automobile. The spread of laws such as this one will allow these voice activated applications demand to rise like no other. We’ve seen vLingo, which is an application that will type what you “speak” into your BlackBerry. The downfall with that was the lag it gave as it connects to your EDGE/3G network while transferring. What they need to implement is a application that goes from voice to text instantly without having to go through your internet. In addition, at the end of every text message sent via vLingo, it would display “Sent via vLingo” at the bottom which many users were unhappy with. Try out the application and let us know what you think!

SlingMedia Inc. specializes in audio and video placeshifting technology. Their famous “SlingBox” gives you the luxury in being able to use your home cable service any where as long as there is an active internet connection. Streaming your live television on any computer was made simple and easy. Even changing the channels on both your PC and cable box simultaneously was created possible. Now SlingMedia has entered the BlackBerry market, where all 3G/WiFi capable devices have a SlingBox application that lets you watch television streaming at the palm of your hand.
PROS: Quality is superb, audio is very loud and clear. Lets you change channels while the home user is watching his/her own stations. Application is very easy to navigate with its built in remote functionalities.
CONS: When in a moving vehicle (switching tower to tower), SlingPlayer will buffer for a few seconds before resuming what you were watching. Mobile Application costs $29.99 which seems inconvenient after dropping $100+ on the SlingBox unit already.

The hype is finally almost over, or so they say it is. Various rumors and banners are saying we should be expecting the Curve 8900 on February 18 next month from T-Mobile. We’ll be seeing many changes in this device and upcoming ones as the mini USB port has been changed and a lock button has been implemented on top.

In addition, the screen does cover a larger amount of space on the 8900 than it does on the Bold 9000. This doesn’t necessarily mean it calls for a bigger screen than the Bold. Expect to see this Curve 8900 with the same dimensions as its older 83xx brother.
