I thought it was interesting to point out that you can test simulate each and every single BlackBerry OS in a simple download file you get right from RIM’s website.  Every OS version from 3.6 to 4.7 is available for simulation download.  You can test all functions on it as you would on the actual device.  Great for people indecisive about which one to get and want to take their times analyzing it.

Japanese wireless network operator NTT DoCoMo and Research In Motion have suspended sales of the BlackBerry Bold after a small number of devices overheated during charging.

RIM said Friday that the problem appears to be limited to Bold smartphones sold in Japan since last week and the cause hasn’t yet been determined.

“Although RIM’s analysis of the devices in question has allowed it to rule out a battery problem, the root cause remains under investigation,” the Waterloo, Ont.-based company said in a statement.

Temperatures of the Bold smartphones were warmer than usual during charging, but appeared to have remained within regulatory standards, RIM said.

About 30 Japanese users have reported their BlackBerry Bold keyboards heated up during charging, representing less than one per cent of about 4,000 units sold in Japan since the Bold’s recent launch.

It was sometime yesterday that all users got updates for their YouMail app on their devices.  We saw that there were some troubles with the program, but ended up finding out that problems have been resolved as a YouMail employee was kind enough to blog on our website in regards to the issues and resolution.

Congrats to Canada!  Looks like Bell wins in being the first carrier to hold the BlackBerry Pearl Flip via CDMA.  Sorry Verizon and Telus, but you’re not working fast enough!  Right now it is going for only $29.95 for a 3 year contract, $349.95 for a 2 year contract, and $449.95 for a 1 year contract.  Definitely a big change in price if you ask me.

Why are we going through all these leaks and undiclosed information when Best Buy is out here promoting the device before the actual company is?  As funny and odd as it seems, it’s very true.  Best Buy plans to shoot out this phone pretty soon, but no official words from them, Telus, or RIM.

I am very happy for all you who had to wait so long for OS 4.5 to release.  I am assuming many of you went ahead and downloaded ones for other carriers and installed them properly on your devices.  But there is always that huge community that does not go out of their way to do so.  Congrats to all you 8830 users as you are pretty much up to date in your OS version atlast!  Sprint did take awhile but they came through for you now.
