Chalk Media said Friday that its acquisition by BlackBerry smartphone maker Research in Motion Ltd. has passed a shareholder vote and has been completed officially.
Everything was approved at a meeting with some investors on Tuesday, and approved the next day by the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada-based Chalk Media said in a press release.
RIM announced in December that it intended to acquire Chalk Media, whose technology is used to send data to BlackBerry devices, in an all-cash deal for about $18.4 million.
Research in Motion’s shares gained 63 cents to close at $55.40.
