BlackBerry Addicts & Confessions

President Obama is not the only one out there who refuses to give up his BlackBerry.  Across the globe we see the device spread to different types of users..and addicts. Here are some testimonials from some highly addicted BlackBerry users who will not give up for any reason.

Victoria Brewer: “We have an everlasting bond.”

As a Ball State University student, Brewer uses her BlackBerry to stay connected to her friends, with the Facebook and Myspace applications, and her schoolwork, with the e-mail feature. She uses it to wake up in the morning, as a stereo to sing along with in the shower, to browse the Internet while at work and to give her turn-by-turn directions around the city.

Tracy Dalton: “I’d rather have my BlackBerry than a boyfriend.”

Dalton loves her BlackBerry so much that when her first one fell in the toilet, she reached in and got it, took it apart and dried it in a bag of uncooked rice until it worked again. She has the Curve, which she uses mostly for work and personal e-mail communication. She said her favorite thing about the BlackBerry is that it has features for someone who has a personal life and who is highly involved with their career.

Dan McDonald: “It’s everything but the kitchen sink.”

As a real estate agent, McDonald admits he used to get lost a lot, but the navigation on his BlackBerry Curve has been a lifesaver for saving time while traveling. McDonald said he likes that his BlackBerry is able to capture memories not only for work, but also for life. He uses the voice recorder as reminders for himself and the camera and video recording options as a photo album to show off his 17-month-old son. He said the time that his “smart phone” saves him with e-mail and transportation gives him more time to put down the technology and enjoy life.

Aaron Richardson: “I wouldn’t give up my phone for any circumstance.”

Richardson, a sales representative at Verizon Wireless, has had the BlackBerry Curve, Peal and World Edition. He said the capability to tether the phone with his computer to gain wireless access anywhere the phone has service is a huge convenience and less-expensive than getting a separate wireless connection. He said that some people don’t want to give the “smart phone” a chance, but after they get used to it it’s something they would never give up. Although the phone is not his most popular seller, he said it’s a great investment, especially because Verizon is currently offering a buy-one, get-one free sale.

I don't think I would ever admit to my blackberry “addiction”. I don't even like calling it that. I just like to give each of their devices a go and email for several hours a day. Am I an “addict?”
