So what’s new?  We see Shazam with full BlackBerry support, not to mention completely free as well!  It was a great suprise as we heard rumors about it releasing for BlackBerry.  All along they were waiting to release it with the App World.  Definitely was worth the wait.  The layout of the App Store definitely beats any other that we have seen.  The time is very responsive and there is very little loading time.

It looks like Skype will finally be releasing its official version for the famous BlackBerry device we all own.  The iPhone of course gets it before us which is fine given that it’ll run as a beta for them most likely.  I’d rather wait and have a working solid Skype app.  

The Skype app will be free of use on all BlackBerrys.  If you’re Skype calling from your phone to any other Skype account whether it be PC or mobile, it is completely free.  Many people in the US are starting to get into the Skype spirit, but putting this app on the BlackBerry (even the iPhone) will increase the amount of reliance and usage of the great program.  Video chatting is still up in the air, but I won’t get too excited for it until we see or hear something official.

Yellow Pages Group, Canada’s leader in local search, developed the user-friendly application that lets consumers search for local businesses and services using a BackBerry smartphone and gives YPG’s more than two million Canadian online business listings access to the growing number of BlackBerry subscribers.  A lot of local yellow pages applications were targeted too much for US users and left out Canada.  Given that BlackBerry lives in Canada, this app has every right to be there and should have so long ago!  At just one day before the BlackBerry App World launches, we are seeing this free app which may be included in it as well.

Slacker announced today the addition of song lyrics to their famous Slacker Radio Plus.  So what exactly does it do?  It’s pretty neat actually.  It provides music lovers with the ability to read and sing along with the words to their favorite songs.  I haven’t heard of any other services that do this for your BlackBerry.  Last time I checked, you had to go to a karaoke bar or look up lyrics online!  Slacker Radio Plus is an upgrade offering which gives listeners access to all the features of the free Slacker Basic Radio service, plus advanced features including the ability to skip an unlimited number of songs, unlimited song requests, ad-free listening and now full song lyrics provided by LyricFind.
