BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 coming in May to Alltel Wireless
by The PocketBerry Team
Alltel Wireless has announced that the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 will be coming to their service at the beginning of May ’09. The device is the only clamshell style BlackBerry out there, which didn’t receive as much fame as it should have. Being the older sibling of the traditional 81xx Pearl series, the 8230 Pearl Flip keeps cool with the SureType keyboard.
The LCD of the device (from the inside) has a screen resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and the external display allows users to see who is calling before they open the phone which should come stock with any flip phone of course, but still seems to be a luxury of some sort. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 comes equipped with an awesome GPS receiver and has maps built in for easy navigation. The GPS comes real handy with all these location based applications and services out there as well.
Snap away pictures as the device rocks a 2.0MP camera, and YES with video support. The browser and email viewing are all in HTML so have no worries folks! As for microSD capability, it does have it and will go up to 16GB. What else do you need out of a phone?
