A few days ago, we talked about the confirmation of Obama’s BlackBerry returning.  We just got the word on some features his 8830 World Edition will have.  First off, it will be running an encryption software called SecureVoice.  It has been developed by a security firm called Genesis key with the NSA to make sure that it has complete protection against hackers and all other types of bored folks.

In addition, the software will allow President Obama to view all types of documents classified as “Top Secret” while roaming outside the White House.  Of course he will be able to keep in touch with his wife Michelle and other family members who will be given similar devices as well  (his little children are gonna rock Berrys with encryption software?).

We already know that by US law, it is mandatory that all emails and other messages sent or received by President Obama must be retained.  His staff has been currently working on some sort of archiving system to make sure that all his BlackBerry communications are preserved.

So will he still have push email?  Not really…  Rumor has it that the President may have to wait up to 50 minutes to receive emails as it takes time for them to be scanned to ensure no viruses or tracking cookies are attached to the the email.

Either way, we are all proud to see that President Obama got to have a BlackBerry after all was said and done, even after the NSA threw him that ugly phone and expected him to use it!
