Cnet posted a nice article in regards to 13 BlackBerry applications for the social networker.  We have showed you all of these applications, but thought it was necessary to recap them all in one article at your convenience to browse them all at once!  At one point in life, we used cell phones to make phone calls and to get in touch with one another.  These days, phone calls are the last things we do with our cell phones.  We send text messages to one another, email back and forth fast as a text, send pictures of Kodak moments when close ones aren’t around, and share GPS locations with our peers.  Below is a list of a bunch of social networking applications available for the BlackBerry.  They are all free to download and use.  Enjoy!

Facebook - The most famous and largest social network in the world, Facebook is now available via PC, mobile, and BlackBerry.  With the mobile app, you can tag pictures as you take them with your BlackBerry and upload them right away!  Receive all your updates live and use every function all from your device.  In the new 1.5 build, we saw exciting aspects added such as Facebook integration with your BlackBerry contacts which synced your Facebook buddies with your BlackBerry phonebook, making pictures and contact information go into each other.  As your friends and colleagues call you, their updated Facebook picture will be displayed.  Pretty cool, huh? For those who don’t have the app yet (which I couldn’t believe), feel free to download it through the BlackBerry App World or the Facebook website.

ITookThisOnMyPhone - This exciting app lets you snap pictures on your BlackBerry and upload them to your ITookThisOnMyPhone profile. You can also upload all those pictures to your favorite social network, like Facebook or MySpace.  Yes you can upload via the Facebook app and Myspace app, but this has them all combined in one.

Loopt As long as friends have Loopt installed on their BlackBerry or iPhone, you can find them through the app’s location-based positioning, and you can send messages.  Although it may seem creepy having the world see where you are at any given time, it can easily be shut off at your convenience with the press of a button, so no worries.  GPS programs for BlackBerry have taken quite a big launch and have lots of creativity involved in them.  In Loopt, you can also share friend photos with other buddies and comment on their images. Messaging friends is easy and sharing photos works relatively well. But finding those friends is made difficult at times, since the location-based service isn’t perfect.

MySpace - The MySpace app is a farely new one that came out, more of a response to the Facebook app if you ask me.  It has a lot of the same function as the Facebook app, minus all the BlackBerry contacts integrations and things of that nature.  In the app you can easily send and receive MySpace mail and update your status. And of course just like the famous Facebook app, you can also upload pictures to your profile from your BlackBerry. It works a charm doing so with little wait time.  It’s currently available on the BlackBerry App World, or you can go to the mobile MySpace site to get it.

Qik Livestreaming - This cool app has been out for quite some time but hasn’t received the publicity it deserved.   Basically, it lets you stream video from your BlackBerry. It has an awesome interface that gets you streaming video in seconds.  The quality is pretty good which is surprising but there’s no complaints there.

Snap2Twitter - Once downloaded, this app is automatically added to your BlackBerry photo options. When you take a picture, you can upload it to your Twitter profile and add text, just as you would with the MySpace or Facebook website. Your followers will see the text and a link to the photo.

SnapMyLife This is more of a sequel to Snap2Twitter for all you geeks who want to share even more photos, SnapMyLife will help you do it. It doesn’t let you upload snapped photos directly to a social network. Instead, you can add them to your SnapMyLife page. They can then be edited and shared with friends and family. You can also view friends’ photos and comment on them.  Check it out for yourself.

TwitterBerry - This was one of the first Twitter apps available for BlackBerry, but it fell off after two years when Twitter applications started popping left and right.  It is not available in the BlackBerry App World but it is worth downloading if you want a very simple interface for Twitter. This app still remains to be one of the most popular Twitter clients for BlackBerry, but again there are other Twitter clients that have been released and do have a big chance of competing.

UberTwitter - This is the lastest Twitter client that has released for BlackBerry, and you also won’t find this in the BlackBerry App World.  You can simply get it from the home page of the app. It is a full-featured Twitter client with the complete abilities to upload pictures, send videos, and even update your Google Talk account with your latest tweet (that’s awesome).  Of course the app is still in beta, so respect any small bugs it may or may not give you.  It seem very functional for myself and I haven’t had any issues yet.

Visible Vote Mobile Visible Vote Mobile isn’t your typical social-networking app, since it doesn’t let you share photos and videos or tell the world about yourself. But it does let you track legislators, bills being pushed through Congress, and how your representatives are voting. You can then vote on those same bills with other Visible Vote users. The app lets you view friends’ votes, find people of like-minded political views, and contact your representatives when you fell it’s necessary. It’s a highly informative app that’s worth checking out.

Where Where uses your BlackBerry’s GPS to help you find places in your area. You can search Yelp to find local hot spots or Eventful to find events. You can also find acar through ZipCar, if it operates in your area. Where is an extremely useful app. I highly recommend it.

Xenozu Xenozu is simple: it brings YouTube to your BlackBerry. You can search YouTube, see featured videos, and save some of your favorite clips. The video and audio quality are outstanding. That said, I was displeased with the app’s design–it looks like the company ported its iPhone app design to the BlackBerry. That made it difficult to use. But if you want YouTube on your BlackBerry, you need Xenozu.

Yatca Yatca is another Twitter client that you won’t find in the BlackBerry App World. But unlike TwitterBerry, which is full-featured, Yatca is quite simple and basically lets you update your stream or send replies. It delivers updates to your BlackBerry’s message Inbox, which might be a nuisance. Consider it a runner-up to TwitterBerry and UberTwitter.
