GVdialer has just been updated for your convenience.  There were too many reported bugs before including conflict with other applications, or having the service “off” but it never disables it self.  Now you can dial with or without your Google Voice Voicemail PIN.  Also all conflicts in regards to third party apps have been solved!  Enjoy folks.

How to update? Read below!

1.  Remove your current version: Options>Advanced Options>Applications>GVdialer>Option button>Delete.  You may be asked to reboot your device.

2.  Download a new application from your PC browser http://www.gvdialer.com/Pages/FreeTrial.aspx

3.  Verify your Voicemail PIN settings in GVdialer>options>my account are the same as on your Google Voice account for your Blackberry mobile number.

NOTE: Google Voice will soon make the Voicemail PIN as an OPTIONAL so you can select if you want GVdialer to use Voicemail PIN or not when dialing.

So your BlackBerry plays YouTube videos already.  What are the benefits of downloading another platform to watch them then?  It’s an awesome application that basically looks like the iPhone YouTube app, only better.  It has a bottom tab with icons including Featured, Most Viewed, Most Recent, Top Rated, Search, Bookmarks, History, & Help.  In addition, the app includes its own media player to play the videos you select!  Many would just assume it opens up your native Berry media player, but no!  This application is absolutely free to download.  Just go onto the BlackBerry App World and download it for free today!

obama_blackberry_1108272c

A few days ago, we talked about the confirmation of Obama’s BlackBerry returning.  We just got the word on some features his 8830 World Edition will have.  First off, it will be running an encryption software called SecureVoice.  It has been developed by a security firm called Genesis key with the NSA to make sure that it has complete protection against hackers and all other types of bored folks.

In addition, the software will allow President Obama to view all types of documents classified as “Top Secret” while roaming outside the White House.  Of course he will be able to keep in touch with his wife Michelle and other family members who will be given similar devices as well  (his little children are gonna rock Berrys with encryption software?).

We already know that by US law, it is mandatory that all emails and other messages sent or received by President Obama must be retained.  His staff has been currently working on some sort of archiving system to make sure that all his BlackBerry communications are preserved.

So will he still have push email?  Not really…  Rumor has it that the President may have to wait up to 50 minutes to receive emails as it takes time for them to be scanned to ensure no viruses or tracking cookies are attached to the the email.

Either way, we are all proud to see that President Obama got to have a BlackBerry after all was said and done, even after the NSA threw him that ugly phone and expected him to use it!

blackberry_storm_iphone_3g

We are at war.  Or so we have been for a while.  Some say it’s over, others say it hasn’t even begun yet.  Was the BlackBerry Storm RIM’s entire response to the iPhone?  Partially in my opinion, but there will be more unveiled as touch screen technology becomes familiar with BlackBerrys.

All 25 million of the BlackBerry subscribers around the world tend to form an “intensely loyal market,”  staying to their own product.  Sure there have been many switches from BlackBerry to iPhone (and many customers coming back again), but BlackBerry has done nothing but improve its product over time.

As we keep updating our device’s software, we see that a lot of visuals are becoming cosmetically nicer and functions more user friendly.  Look at the first generation BlackBerrys with the old school fonts and basic capabilities.  Look now.

Sure iPhone is whipping out its 3.0 software, fixing many issues and satisfying many MMS-less customers, but RIM maintains their steady product.  How do you feel about it?

blackberrytour1

What does BlackBerry Tour mean to you?  The picture above pretty much is the image that pops in my head when I hear the name.  I’m sorry we’re just not fond of the name at all.  Javelin even sounded silly to us at one point and now we have Tour.  When I hear “BlackBerry Tour,” I’m reminded of U2 going on tour being sponsored by BlackBerry.  I don’t think of the 9630 at all.  Many blogs are posting about the new name, and it’s been floating around for quite a few days.  BGR confirms the info true as www.blackberry9630.com and www.blackberrytour.com were both registered on the same day from the same IP as well.  So i guess we’ll have to get used to this new name, the BlackBerry Tour.

“T-Mobiles Pay Once BlackBerry is the world’s first package to offer a year’s instant email and internet for a one-off payment,” said Richard Warmsley, head of internet and entertainment at T-Mobile. “When life can feel busier than ever, it’s even more important that everyone has the right to easy email and web access to keep friends and family close, and to help to organize their busy lives. Now customers have a BlackBerry solution that means they don’t have to think about the cost of using email and internet services for 12 months.”

Warmsley says it all over here.  T-Mobile UK now offers a flat fee of 179 pounds for unlimited BlackBerry Internet Service for 12 months!

Of course this is only for the BIS service.  Voice calls and text/picture messaging are separate and not included with this great promotion.  It’s still a good deal which ever way you look at it.

Will we see great cell phone plans such as this one come to the United States?  I doubt it would ever debut, but who knows.
