Alltel Wireless has announced that the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 will be coming to their service at the beginning of May ’09. The device is the only clamshell style BlackBerry out there, which didn’t receive as much fame as it should have. Being the older sibling of the traditional 81xx Pearl series, the 8230 Pearl Flip keeps cool with the SureType keyboard.
The LCD of the device (from the inside) has a screen resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and the external display allows users to see who is calling before they open the phone which should come stock with any flip phone of course, but still seems to be a luxury of some sort. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 comes equipped with an awesome GPS receiver and has maps built in for easy navigation. The GPS comes real handy with all these location based applications and services out there as well.
Snap away pictures as the device rocks a 2.0MP camera, and YES with video support. The browser and email viewing are all in HTML so have no worries folks! As for microSD capability, it does have it and will go up to 16GB. What else do you need out of a phone?

Just in from Elecite, we present you with XBerry! Look familiar? Of course you’ve heard of the hit system by Microsoft…Xbox! We saw previously a PlayStation theme, and Xbox needed to share the same love. This theme works for the 88xx, 83xx, 9000, 95xx, & 8900! It’s a Today Zen with some cool shortcuts. When you scroll up to the Calendar and Messages, you can navigate left and right to Connections and Profile. Pretty cool huh? All the stock icons have been modified and designed to fit the whole “Xbox theme.” You can have this theme for only $6.99.

Wow, this theme is literally available for them all. Don’t even fuss about it or say it’s not available for your device. If for any reason it is not, then please upgrade your device as you have been eligible for upgrade for over 3 years now. Any way, here’s another amazing iPhone-ish theme called iBerry 3G that again, looks better than it does on any iPhone! BlackBerry does it better, and that goes without saying. The theme’s movement is really smooth and has no lags what so ever. Lock screen simulates just as it should on the iPhone (only better), as it is equipped with the state of the art “slide to unlock” button. Cool right? The theme is only $6.99 to buy from Elecite, so buy it now! Oh yeah, who remembers my posting about the Elecite 50% sale? It’s still going on now and today is the last day! So make sure you purchase your themes today!

As unbelievable as it seems, you will be able to stream video from all of your favorite websites soon such as Hulu. BGR has confirmed with a screenshot showing how browsing through the Hulu website is possible. But that’s only one website. Imagine all your other streaming video sites you always wanted to access on your BlackBerry but could not due to the vacancy of flash support. Skyfire is currently roaming around now as a private beta but will be open to the public soon of course. We all look forward to the day it releases.

The BlackBerry Storm never fails to stop updating. Everyone in the states does complain about the ones right out from their carrier (not to point any fingers at Verizon Wireless or anything). Last week, 4.7.0.131 was released, now we see leaks for the .132 build. Download at your own risk and don’t forget to delete the “vendor” file before installing into the phone! Enjoy folks.

The BlackBerry App World seemed to dissapoint many at first, but as time goes on, we see many applications getting added to it every day. Do you like reading comics? I do personally and that’s why I had let you all know that there is a comic available for download in the BlackBerry App World. Taking a big 3MB of space, it’s all worth it if you do like to read away comics on your BlackBerry. Nothing’s permanent either, and I’m sure you’ll all feel free to delete after reading it (a few times perhaps). It’s a simple icon that gets downloaded to your device and opens the comic as soon as you click it. Then simply use the trackball to go back and forth through the pages. What’s missing in the comic? I would say a zoom option would be nice. I can read everything just fine, but it could use a small zoom.
So what comic is presented? It’s a Digital Comic Book version of Jazan Wild’s Carnival Of Souls! It’s a free preview of the story that will have you “chasing Clowns through the jungle!”
Synopsis: The story begins with a trip to a carnival that quickly takes you spinning on a wild ride, where the clown is your guide into the psyche of the mind! Fasten your seat belt and hold on tight! Step inside… Jazan Wild’s Carnival Of Souls!

Yes, another theme based off of the Apple iPhone, but doesn’t it just look better on a BlackBerry? Of course it does and that’s why we had to share this brilliant theme by d900man over at Themes4BB with you. The icons aren’t exactly as they are on the iPhone. If any thing, they are a lot more refined and look better than the stock ones Apple has provided. Who knows, maybe you’ll see similiar icons here taken away and implemented into the supposed new iPhone releasing. Just remember where you saw it first! The home screen icons are locked and come as TwitterBerry, Facebook, Browser, Calendar, eMail, SMS/MMS, Contacts, Music, and Manage Connections. If you would like it modified in any way, feel free to contact d900man and let him know how you would like it to be! This would be among my top choices for the BlackBerry Curve 8900 (rockin’ the BlackBerry Bold 9000 now). Click the OTA link located right under the screenshots! Enjoy folks!
