Yes, pretty impressive right?  We unfortunately haven’t been able to get any barcodes to scan as it may not scan every item.  We have tried BlackBerry cell phone barcodes (IMEI # stickers), cigarettes, and a box of cereal.  If you guys decide to download the application, let us know if you have any luck scanning any barcodes.  It’s a simple application to use, just follow the instructions.  It  can be found under Social Networking Apps in the BlackBerry App World.  Enjoy folks!

It looks like this app only scans 2D barcodes called EZcodes, not the traditional UPC codes found on packages. Those UPC readers need AF cameras – so Storms only.

NeoMedia Technologies grandfathered this technology back in the mid 90’s and have been doing mobile code scanning and comparison shopping via barcodes long before any other company in this space.

NeoMedia has a rich patent portfolio that covers scanning barcodes with a camera enabled mobile device to connect to the Internet, comparison shop, and/or retrieve online content.

This program is for scanning 2D barcodes, not the 1D ones that look like IMEI barcode or UPC codes that comes on practically everything you buy in the US.

Still, doesnt work for me on my 8900 regardless
