blue-jeans-theme

Now I bet you all are asking how much this theme is due to its unique and sleek look.  Turns out, it’s a completely free theme available over the air below.  The theme is basically based on your favorite pair of blue jeans you wear on that Sunday whether or not you’re hosing down you plants in your backyard or going out to your local Starbucks.  The icons are shiny with different colors for each to differentiate them.  The theme is for the BlackBerry Curve 83xx series.  Try it out for yourself.  OTA download link is available below.

We spent several hours yesterday messing with Viigo’s new “alpha” release 3.1.242 which was interesting on many levels.  It was nice to be able to use the Audio & Podcast section as well and hearing various streaming clips.  We were very satisfied with the awesome Social Networking tab where we could use our Twitter account live on it.  Replying and re-Tweeting is made real easy all in the same platform with no need to have the Browser open.  Pretty cool huh?  Drop us a line and tell us what you guys think, who downloaded the latest alpha build of course.

Don’t have Viigo yet?  Click here.

Jim Balsillie

It looks like the co-CEO of Research In Motion said that his $212.5 million offer is conditional on the terms that the Coyotes relocate to Canada, where they existed as the Winnipeg Jets before they went ahead and moved to Phoenix during the 1996-97 season.

Basically what happened was the team had previously filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last Tuesday.  In the filing, it included the proposed sale of the franchise to PSE Sports & Entertainment, LP, a Delaware limited partnership, which would move the franchise to southern Ontario.

Balsillie made offers in the past to purchase the Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins in best hopes of moving them to Hamilton, Ontario and failed at those offers as well.

“The current team ownership asked that I table an offer to purchase the Coyotes and significant discussions resulted in an offer that is in the best interests of the franchise, the NHL, and the great hockey fans of Canada and Southern Ontario,” Balsillie explained during an interview.  “I am excited to move closer to bringing an NHL franchise to what I believe is one of the best unserved hockey markets in the world — Southern Ontario. A market with devoted hockey fans, a rich hockey history, a growing and diversified economy and a population of more than seven million people.”

The NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said that the Coyotes definitely needed investors and were looking for some as of March, but stressed that the team will not be located under any circumstances.  Balsillie is hoping to make the team a deal that cannot be refused assuming the team gets to its really needy stages.

In this theme, there’s six icons (three displayed on top of three others), with a Today display on the right side.  The icons are still “Boldish” but it still goes with the theme great.  Each screenshot gives you a great different piece of scenery to look at.  Make peace with yourself and your BlackBerry and download this theme today.

blackberry_storm2

After the first generation of the BlackBerry Storm, RIM felt it was ready to go for the second launch of a second generation Storm device.  With no confirmed names or details, it is still known as the “BlackBerry Storm 2.”

Being under the iPhone still (but beating it with the Curve 83xx), the Storm still falls under one of the top 5 phones sold last quarter.  BlackBerry coverage now extends to 475 wireless carriers and distribution partners in about 160 countries. The company grew its revenue in its last quarter by 84 percent to $3.46 billion.

RIM’s new motive, which was to target non-corporate users as well has succeeded as RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie confirmed that more than 50 percent of their sales are to non-corporate users.  “We see this very large and untapped consumer market,” Jim Balsillie said during a presentation to analysts and investors.

overview_gmail

Google has announced new features for BlackBerry users today.  The new service will push Gmail and calendar items to your native client software right on your BlackBerry device.  The service will support only 250 BES users.  If need be more users (500), then an additional BES will need to be in play.  The beta will be out this July for testing.  So what is Google looking to accomplish?  Google strongly believes that the new service will definitely encourage businesses to use Google applications for their BlackBerry devices.  Some organizations may use Google apps because it is cheaper and much easier to maintain, rather than getting on the Microsoft Exchange or even Lotus Notes.
