skype2

It is a RapidShare link, so if you are 50/50 about downloading it or plan to eventually, I would download it right now and then install later as soon as possible due to links getting broken and files removed.  This is not an official copy of Skype but you are free to try it if you are brave enough!  Last time, we had leaks for the Storm, and at last the Bold gets a sneak peak at the leak as well! I downloaded this file and installed it successfully, but just like the folks over at BerryReview, I have been unable to connect.  Let us know if you guys have any luck with it! Enjoy.

Feel free to download the zip at this link on RapidShare

wifitransfer

It’s big news to see this app is finally for other devices other than the Bold.  Of course you must be WiFi equipped but now the whole 4.5 OS generation is included.  So what’s in the lite version?  You can basically do all sorts of transfers, just no access to deleting or creating new folders and things of that nature.  There’s not much to say about the application as I can talk about it for hours, but it’s just one of those apps you have to try for yourself and see how awesome it is!

ToonLand v1 _ 1

Here’s a great Today theme for the BlackBerry Storm called Toonland.  It has three different tabs on the front screen as you can see which is very rare to find on BlackBerry themes these days.  In addition, the colors and icons are all customized to go with the whole “Toonland” theme it has.  Special thanks to  xxpantheonxx for making this theme!  OTA download for two different versions is available below! Enjoy.

laterdude-menu-item

Here’s an awesome free application that many of us can admit we need.  LaterDude will add its option in the Call Log when highlighting a name.  You can just simply click “Remind me later” and it will remind you to call the person later.  It’s a free, small, simple, but somehow essential for the very forgetful human being.  To download this application via OTA, click here.

yatka

There’s a new version of Yatca around, bringing awesome new capabilities such as geo-tagging and favorites.  It’s been awhile since we saw an update but here it is at last!  If you aren’t aware, Yatca is another Twitter client for the BlackBerry absolutely free, check out below to see what new features the Yatca creator has put in:

  • The ability to mark/unmark a favorite. This means for example that you can flag any items you need to come back to when you’re back at your computer.
  • To mark something as a favorite simply click the button or use the ‘v’ shortcut.
  • Next up on the feature list is geotagged photo uploads. This is disabled by default for your privacy and security. If you want to enable it go to Yatca Options and set ‘Use geotagging’ to ‘Yes’. Note that geotagging will increase your power consumption which will run down your battery a little bit quicker. Note also that on device models which default to obtaining ‘assisted fixes’ you may incur additional carrier charges. At the risk of stating the obvious, the geotagging is only effective if you are using an image storage service that supports geotagging! The default image storage service for Yatca to TweetPhoto has been changed.
  • The ability to pause/resume Yatca refresh finally sees the light of day in this release. Users have been asking for this for a long time. When you’re at your computer and using some ultra-slick desktop Twitter client you don’t want to be getting the same 147 tweets to your BlackBerry too. So just invoke the ‘Pause Yatca Refresh’ command. Then when you leave your computer invoke the ‘Resume Yatca Refresh’. Too easy. Note that the resume is from ‘now’, i.e. the exact instant you resume.

To go ahead and download Yatca, visit their site for a free OTA link here.

20060226-gmail-logo-google-tm

We are all waiting for Gmail to finally become pushed via BlackBerry.  We heard rumors, tips, and hints all over the place but had never received a straight answer as to when the service would officially launch.  In this forum post we found, an iPhone user seeks advice and information from Google employee Eth@n and turned out to be informative more or so for the BlackBerry user waiting for that push Gmail.

In that forum post, an IT manager was concerned whether or not Gmail would ever be pushed for the iPhone and requested a Google employee to reply to get an answer as to when it would be available.  In his reply, Google employee Eth@n mentioned towards the end: “”As a reminder, push email support is currently available with the Gmail app on Android devices and will be available for Google Apps Premier Edition and Education Edition users with BlackBerry devices in July.”

For all those getting Verizon BlackBerry Pearl Flips or even have them still for T-Mobile, this one’s for you.  Not many people are posting too many themes for the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 82xx, but we will start posting them more now, as the device grows in popularity in the nation.  Any way, this is a theme that is based of the famous Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, except instead it is on your BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 or 8230 for that matter.  The background images are really cool, and even if you’re not a big fan of the operating system, it just looks cool on your phone!  This theme does NOT work on any other device except the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 82xx series.  Special thanks to jackiectmo for providing this great theme.  The OTA download link is available below! Enjoy.
