It’s pretty exciting seeing what the new UberTwitter application has updated to. Check out the many changes that have been made below:
- Cleaned up and modernized the user interface. The timeline interface, tweet update, and tweet view screens have changed substantially, please see the screenshots above.
- Reduced battery drain!
- You can now delete your tweets
- If you are using the internal GPS, we added an icon in the title bar showing if you have a GPS lock (blue icon) or not (gray icon).
- Fixed bug such that ÜberTwitter will now properly fall back to using cell towers for location if you don’t have a GPS lock.
- The ability to follow a thread of replies. Once we added this we kicked ourselves for not having it earlier, it is SO useful! On one of the screen shots above you’ll see the ‘in reply to’ button on the view tweet screen. (more…)

After being out for the iPhone for so long, Mediafly has finally decided to make its way to the BlackBerry. It’s a neat little free application that gives you access to Podcasts directly on your BlackBerry streaming quite flawlessly (over 3G and WiFi connections that is). The software is still in beta, but works a charm for now. To download it, do the following:
1. Visit www.Mediafly.Mobi from your BlackBerry web browser
2. Follow the prompts to download & install the application
3. The first time you run Mediafly Mobile on your BlackBerry you will need to select the“Allow ALL HTTP” option. If you do not, the application will not function correctly.
4. Enjoy!
The application is absolutely free to download now, so check it out for yourselves and let us know what you think. The current supported models are : BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Pearl, & BlackBerry Storm.

After updating the OS, we realized that the Bold has an option to change your network from 2G to 3G which is quite convenient. We first heard about it over at BerryReview, then realized for ourselves that the option was indeed there. When is it convenient? When your Bold battery is draining fast as usual, turn off 3G and enable 2G because you know you won’t be accessing a charger anytime soon. In case you’re lazy to find our previous post on the 4.6.0.282 official download, click here.

This was a really funny advertisement I came across over at Gizmodo. It looks like the Chinese have designed a whole other BlackBerry and supposedly supported by Barack Obama himself! The funniest part is that this BlockBerry is equipped with Windows Mobile 6 also. Pretty crazy isn’t it?

OS Updates »

How nice to see the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 get an OS update via AT&T as they are usually the last and latest to release updates. As BerryReview has mentioned, it is indeed rather odd seeing AT&T updating this OS all alone while other carriers have not. Anyone still rockin’ the 8110? Here’s the latest 4.5.0.158 which seems to have fixed many bugs people have encountered. The GPS seems to be working better now, but there is no say whether or not it is all in our heads or indeed this build fixed that shortage.
