The biggest hyped BlackBerry Tour released tomorrow July 12th as many BlackBerry users via Verizon Wireless will be able to upgrade to a modern device, not having to resort to the touch screen BlackBerry Storm 9530.  The device came out in such a rush that the desire to release the device outweighed integrating WiFi into the device.  Sprint confirms that it will have its “v2.0″ WiFi enabled BlackBerry Tour 9630 next year.

Verizon on the other hand did not confirm 100% that it will be offering a WiFi enabled BlackBerry Tour next year as well, but they emphasized that they were working with Research in Motion to bring WiFi to future BlackBerry models. By saying this it could be a reference to the BlackBerry Storm upgrade, which will reportedly endow Verizon’s exclusive touchscreen BlackBerry with WiFi connectivity next September.

I was extremely excited about the new Blackberry for Sprint and have been waiting to buy a new smartphone for sometime now. I do not care for the layout and function of the Pre by Palm (no idea at all why they chose to slide their keyboard that way forcing it to be cramped as hell when they didn't have to) and have eagerly been searching for information about the new BB for some time. Now, it comes out and no freaking wifi? Are you kidding me? In this day and age when you are paying that kind of money for a phone and are locked into a contract to boot, you shouldn't be denied something that I can get on another phone for half the price. Unreal. Nice job Sprint. Even when finally getting your act together and bringing out some new pda phones, you still manage to screw it up as usual. Looking back, I should have expected something like this.
