Skyfire BlackBerry Web Browser goes into another alpha stage
by The PocketBerry Team
It looks like the famous Skyfire mobile Browser for BlackBerry has finally entered another alpha testing as it has been in alpha for quite a few months. There were many false rumors floating around that it is beta, but we confirmed from a rep over at Skyfire that it was just a rumor and it is currently still in alpha mode. For those who don’t know, Skyfire is a significant browser as it can handle embedded media on website equipped with a sexy Flash Player 10. What’s that mean for us BlackBerry users? We can enjoy going to YouTube.com and Hulu.com streaming media right on their sites without having to use our BlackBerry media players at all.
Now that it has updated from the alpha version, this new beta has quite a few enhancements. There are now keyboard shortcuts in which users can define as they please to the browser. Zooming functionalities have been added and zooming speeds improved big time from what the alpha had to offer.
What else is Skyfire equipped with besides Flash 10? It’s also rockin’ SliverLight (by Microsoft), JavaScript, AJAX, and Quicktime to your device through its browser. Forget not being able to access sites anymore, or ever hearing anything about the iPhone Safari browser again. As you all know it is still in beta, not publicly so hold your horses until it is released for everyone to test out.
