eeelight

After seeing this, it made me feel that all laptops should have the LED light on them to notify you when certain events occur.  In this case, the user has put in a custom LED on the upper right corner of his laptop, right above the LCD screen.  Currently, it notifies for Twitter, Pidgeon, and all emails, blinking a different color for each event.  Pretty cool modification to see on an EeePc if you ask me.  Check out the full scoop on this project  here at JustBlaire.

bluehoo-blackberry

Here’s an interesting mobile application for BlackBerry called Bluehoo, which basically helps you find old friends and make new ones which are currently in your vicinity. Bluehoo uses Bluetooth to discover “hoos” around you right here, right now, and enables you to view those people’s profiles and start conversations.  All you have to do is simply hit the scan button, and it will show you everyone who is in range.  Great for social networking and just getting familiarized with the folks around you.

Capture13_33_29

I know, it’s coming as a shock for many of you, but it has been made possible.  I didn’t think it would ever be taken this far, but it did!  Simply select your country, state, and select the police department you are looking for, then simply click “play.”  You probably won’t get any leads as to where the police might be, but you can listen in to your state police officers, and selected towns listed.  The options on it or great also.  You can choose to start and stop the stream any time you please.  Here’s the coolest part of the app

Solar-89-Screenshot1

Another great theme by Elecite has recently made its release. This one is called Solar, as the name fits best with how the theme looks.  The clock and date are big and centered right in the middle of the home screen, then get shifted to the top left corner when in the menu or any other screen.  Check out the screen shots below.  The theme is only $6.99 to keep forever on your Berry.  It’s for the BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Bold 9000, and the BlackBerry Storm 9500 / BlackBerry Storm 9530.  Enjoy.

exit strategy

Here’s an awesome application for BlackBerry we came across this morning.  If there is anything in the world that is just really aggravating, it’s the New York City Subway system.  This application makes going around the city so much easier.

Ever wish you knew exactly where to stand on the subway to arrive at your exit? Front? Back? Middle? Exit Strategy NYC literally takes minutes off your subway trips.  With Exit Strategy NYC, you can view the layout of a subway station and plan where to stand accordingly. Taking the 6 train uptown to Grand Central? Ride in the 8th car for the best exit to the Main Concourse. Need to transfer to the L at Union Square from the N downtown? Ride in the 1st car. Detailed diagrams eliminate the guesswork and frustration from your ride, making your subway trip easier and faster.  Be prepared, beat the crowds.  Check out the video below to get a little more feel as to what the app can do for you.

holly

Holly Madison, most famous for her appearances on Playboy, being one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends, but not officially a Playboy Playmate was caught with a BlackBerry World Edition 8830.  Of all the devices out today, she decides to remain loyal to the largest and reliable 3G netowrk Verizon, appreciating the sim card capability, and sacrificing the camera for all those Kodak moments she may have.  Her latest appearance was earlier this year in a Guinness World Records attempt for the largest bikini parade ever.

rim-building

Yesterday, we all found out about Indonesia not so happy about RIM’s negligence in regards to opening a service center within their country. That resulted in Indonesia announcing a deadline for RIM to comply with what they need. Quickly today we saw a reply back from the BlackBerry makers themselves, Research in Motion.

RIM ensured that it’s opening a service center for BlackBerry handsets in Indonesia after the country encountered issues with licenses last month for new BlackBerry devices.
