Passwords get annoying on the BlackBerry.  It’s time to lock and unlock your phone in a very creative way.  PatternLock offers a new and fun way for you to lock your BlackBerry Storm. The lock screen shows 9 dots in a 3×3 grid. Before using PatternLock, you define what your lock pattern will be. The next time you see the lock screen, you trace your finger in the pattern you defined before and your device will unlock. Any other pattern and in any other order will not unlock the device. To change your options after installing, visit the PatternLock screen in your BlackBerry global options screen (where you change screen/keyboard settings, etc.)

If you live on the east coast of the US, you are well aware of the crazy storms passing through today, now currently hitting the New Jersey/New York region.  It’s been very exciting seeing WeatherEye and how informative it can really be.  WeatherEye displays its icon on the home screen of your BlackBerry displaying the current weather conditions within the icon itself.  What does that mean?  You don’t have to physically open the application.  Instead, you just roll over to the actual icon where it will display clouds for cloudy, a sun for sunny, and so forth.  Also, the name of the application displayed won’t say “WeatherEye.”  It will display “72 degrees cloudy” for example.

Here’s a simple BlackBerry Curve 83xx series theme based on rainbows that pretty much adds lots of color and glamor to your device.  The icons are all customized with the app titles within them giving you a more different vibe than your average themes.  Special thanks to tenacgal for providing this theme.  The OTA download is available below absolutely free. OS 4.5 is required for this theme to work, as you ALL should have this OS by now.  For any reason if you do not have 4.5 OS click here to download it.

The Hearts Theme for the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is very colorful as you can see.  The background images all contain pretty cool shapes of hearts in their outline shape in many different colors.  The icons are the same as they come stock on your device when you purchased it, but they are colored uniquely to match the background images appropriately.  Special thanks to wy2sassy for providing this great theme.  The OTA link is available below.  Enjoy.

What a useless application, we are aware.  But keep in mind next time you decide to quote the famous comedian Dave Chappelle in front of your friends or act one of his skits that this application makes a great prop for it.  The application is absolutely free for download via Mobihand.  It is compatible with all devices running OS versions: 4.3, 4.5, 4.6, and the 4.7 touch screen.

What would we do without our BlackBerry devices? OCK came up with a list of things we could accomplish in our lives when not having our handhelds during the dramatic BlackBerry Messenger outage many of you experienced last night.  The list included:

  • Looking at what’s ahead of you.
  • Driving with two hands.
  • Discovering other reasons why we were given opposable thumbs.
  • Paying attention in business meetings.
  • Sleeping.
  • Thumb wars.

Take a break from the Berry world.  Watch a movie on a bigger resolution screen than your BlackBerry.  Take your girlfriend out to dinner.  Check your email and Facebook on a desktop computer if you have to.  Try keeping your BlackBerry off while you sleep to avoid waking up in the middle of the night because of that blinking red light informing you that there is message waiting for you to read right then and there.
