We showed you a few weeks ago on how a page appeared on BlackBerry’s website talking about a U2 mobile album releasing. Upon following up with the U2 Mobile Album on BlackBerry.com we realized that the homepage got a little make over, showing off the BlackBerry Bold and the BlackBerry Storm. Furthermore, the screen loads quickly only to show a quick teaser of the U2 mobile album coming soon to the BlackBerry device.

Earlier we had seen a page reserved just for the U2 mobile album sponsored by BlackBerry but now we are seeing it right in our faces upon entering BlackBerry.com. The teaser trailer is available there to watch as well. Stay tuned for more info on the U2 mobile album coming out via BlackBerry. In the end BlackBerry does indeed love U2, more or so for abandoning their Apple sponsorship perhaps?

Many might think it is a typo, but indeed this is a free theme and NOT a premium one. It is compatible for both the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Bold 9000. As you can see, the background is a gradient tint. The coolest feature in this theme is top indicators as it gives the BlackBerry a whole new look. A fantastic job has been done on the icons as they all match and are in sync with each other. The OTA links are available for both on the bottom. Special thanks to Jonathan Lundström for providing this great theme.

This is the first leak of OS 5.0 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 out. It’s available at MegaUpload for now so download it while you can before the link expires or goes dead. This is not an official release for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 but it will work on the device. Try and download it at your own risk. And just a reminder, it is only for the BlackBerry Storm 9530, NOT the 9500 or any other device. Once you download the file, there is a password to unzip it.
The password is raysource
Enjoy..

The folks over at CoolBlackBerryThemes have made quite an amazing theme called Black Leather, made for the BlackBerry Bold 9000. With the background matching your Bold’s back cover and the dock having customizable scrolling, you’ll see that this theme is worth the download. Up on top you’ll see the browser in the center, with the Volume button to its left, and the Messages to its right. WiFi and network indicator stays on the bottom while your service bars and batter still remain on top in their designated corners. The clock has been modded to look trendy in the middle with a very fashionable font. For only $5.99, you can grab your copy of this theme and show it off. You can choose to customize this theme further for only $4.99 more.

How does this affect you, the BlackBerry users? For starters, you all have MicroSD card slots on your BlackBerry devices (8100 or more). Walt Disney Company has partnered with Panasonic to go ahead with this interesting project in providing movies on MicroSD cards. This isn’t going to air any time soon in the US as it is in Japan right now. There are no references made that this will be for BlackBerry devices, as it looks as though portable media players of some sort may be needed to play the files. The idea is out there, and not so far fetched as the BlackBerry device has both the MicroSD card slot and media player. If the format of the videos won’t be compatible with the current BlackBerry media player, there is always alternative solutions sucha s third party software that can be implemented. Films releasing first on MicroSD are the “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “National Treasure” series.

Many are confused as to what and where this came from, but if you look closely at the list, there is no reference to made to a new BlackBerry Storm 2 or a BlackBerry Storm 9550. As the terms “storm” and “thunder” seem to go hand in hand, I am going to go ahead and guess that the BlackBerry Thunder listed in the Verizon systems are for the BlackBerry Storm 9550 which is expected to release pretty soon. On the other hand, maybe I could be wrong and this is for something completely different as the Storm 2 aka 9550 is supposed to have another code name. Even so, my guess still stays firm that this is referring to the 9550.

This was definitely a connection we were not expecting to see. BGR announced today that is is partnering up with Beejive in order to enhance its software “TweetGenius” which is basically a Twitter application for the BlackBerry by the folks over at BGR. There aren’t much of any details as to what this new and improved software will do but if you already have purchased TweetGenius you are in luck. For those not really familiar, TweetGenius is a great Twitter application for the BlackBerry device. It has lots of visuals and graphics in it which some may not favor by hearing that but once you try it, it is an unbelievable experience.
