An interesting concept was exemplified here as Buzzd goes ahead and surveys its application users, ending up with incredible results you won’t beleive.  If you’re not familiar with Buzzd, it’s an amazing app for BlackBerry (and other devices) that tells you what’s going on around you as far as bars, clubs, restaurants, and things of that nature.  It’s one of those apps that go further beyond its text descriptions.  To get a full idea as to how the application works, you have to download it for yourself.

Any way, going back to the survey..

Buzzd set out to find out if there was anything resembling mobile etiquette in our collective mobile lifestyles, so they surveyed Buzzd users (1,027 of them) about mobile etiquette in a night club/bar. The majority of respondents said that there simply was no etiquette whatsoever.

Even more stark, were the respondents who admitted to drunk dialing and drunk texting (60% and 68%, respectively). Lastly, in an interesting twist, buzzd asked its users about their sex lives in the recession. It seems more people are staying in and enjoying free activities, as a majority say they are having more sex during the economic downturn. Full survey details are bulleted in the release below.

Buzzd is timing the survey announcement with the launch of their 1.2 version in the BlackBerry AppWorld, which includes many product enhancements including:
·       Users now have the ability to add their own venues—one of the most requested features from the buzzd community
·       Users can now refine searches by category (e.g. restaurants only or bars & clubs only)
·       Added ability to upload profile photos
·       General speed enhancements all around and UI improvements
