There have been several reports along the east coast, specifically in the Long Island area of BlackBerry Messenger via Verizon Wireless not sending or receiving any messages. Data connections have been found to be issues as well. No other carrier but Verizon Wireless seems to be having problems as it pretty much is East Coast Verizon customers getting affect while the west enjoys the fastest 3G network, allegedly. The information is not confirmed yet as this has generated from a huge population of people in a designated area. Dozens of BES actiavted handhelds went down about a half hour ago, displaying “1x” and “1xev” signals. If you are having outages in your area, please drop a comment and let us know what region you are in.

Maybe this isn’t universal for everyone to use but it surely is convenient as you get the full effect out of your background images. The whole theme is based on flowers, but definitely not the kind that makes it all girly, narrowing down its downloaders. Instead it is very unisex and the icon highlighter is really cool as it is a round sphere hovering underneath each icon. Special thanks to for providing this great theme. OTA link is available below the screenshots. This theme is only for the BlackBerry Curve 8900. Enjoy.

Plazmic 4.7 finally got an update patch enabling the creation of BlackBerry Tour 9630 and BlackBerry Curve 8520 themes. The 8520 users did not have to wait as long as the poor Verizon customers using the Tour did, but it was definitely a good thing they both released together in one patch. Prepare for a whole new generation of themes for these new devices.

“This is really about creating a formidable challenge for RIM rather than anyone else,” said the Nokia executive vice president Kai Oistamo in a conference call Wednesday. It seems to be rather aggressive if you ask me. Nokia seems to be pissed about RIM and Apple’s small marketshare which is profiting greatly throughout the world. Basically Microsoft and Nokia are currently working together to bring up mobile versions of the Microsoft Office programs onto Nokia phones which run on the Symbian OS. In an interview, Nokia executive vice president Robert Andersson said that RIM has an almost dominant position in the North American market for mobile email. “That’s the application where they really are strong,” he said.
