Capture7_51_22

This premium-lookin’ theme is absolutely free for all you BlackBerry Curve 8900 owners.  The home screen displays 6 customizable icons.  Speaking of the icons, you’ll see that they are all smaller than your average icons and a lot smoother textures on them as well.  Your typical top bar where the time, date, carrier, and battery bar usually were are now all the way on the bottom, except for the battery and reception meter.

blackberry-9700-boldbrand

We had read earlier more information about the BlackBerry Onyx releasing and what it has to bring to our table.  The folks over at BlackBerry Cool have confirmed as well that the facts via the PhoneGeek are all true.  We have all been waiting very anxiously for this BlackBerry Onyx to release as we bumped into all sorts of confusions along the road down including model number confusions.  There were rumors and screenshots floating around the the Bold/Onyx was going to be 9020 and 9700.  From the leaked image of AT&T’s inventory, it looks like the 9700 is going to be the confirmed model number for the all new BlackBerry Bold 2 aka Onyx.   Read more to check out the confirmed details.

pink 8520

We haven’t seen a pink BlackBerry release in quite awhile now, but it looks like the wait will come to an end.  In Germany’s “The Phone House” flyer, they display as shown above a BlackBerry Curve 8520 which is in pink color.  So far black and white is available for the device as countries overseas will get colors that trigger best to their audiences.  Usually it’s months after the device’s release where we see it come in different colors.  It looks like Germany is getting pink 8520s due to its demand.  Large female community or is pink just in this season?

I don’t know about all of you, but I am very excited to see the Onyx getting a leather back cover.  Perhaps it isn’t as big as the Bold 9000′s leather back cover, but the fact that it is there brings relief to all us Bold owners.  It looks like the new trend nowadays with the BlackBerry is to have its name engraved on the back by the camera, which many people including myself are not too fond of.  This currently is newer than the other Onyx models we’ve seen out there as it is rockin’ a trackpad rather than the native trackball that we saw all over the place. Check out more photos below and over at CrackBerry.

Capture13_37_14

TukeWiki for BlackBerry is a fun little application that not many people really took the time to appreciate.  Media players have been fairly stagnant in the last fifteen years. TuneWiki is taking full advantage of the powerful BlackBerry technologies to provide a breakthrough Social Media Player with more than twenty exclusive patented features, all in real time: lyrics displayed as subtitles  Karaoke style , translation of lyrics to forty languages, maps of music played according to location, top 50 lists in every country in the world, and many more. We’re used to our native media player that comes stock on the device but TuneWiki gives you a fast load time and will connect to the web to get the album cover along with song lyrics to display right on the screen.  The application is currently available on BlackBerry App World so you can easily archive the app when you’re not using it.

Update_Box_0

There’s a new build for SocialScope releasing with no confirmed date as to when it will be released but the hype is high up there.  It looks like there are going to be a lot more features in SocialScope including multiple Twitter accounts and possibly Flickr access by what the icon looks like.  All the colors have been changed to give more of an elegant, professional look as well.  This will be the third major face-lift we see since the very beginning stages of SocialScope.  Stay tuned as we all get our hands on it and test it out for ourselves.  Below are some more screenshots as to what to expect from the all new build of SocialScope for BlackBerry.

ScenicPreviewBold

The Scenic theme for BlackBerry Bold 9000 is one of my favorite free themes available.  The icons are all superb with a really nice finish, and the whole theme in general has an incredible finish to it as a whole.  The best part about it in my opinion is the clock displaying in the center of the screen in bigg bold characters.  The fonts have all been changed to a different, more appropriate one to match the theme.  You get a total of 5 customizable home screen icons on a bottom dock.  Special thank to deremi for creating and providing this great theme.  This theme is only for the BlackBerry Bold 9000 and is absolutely free.  Use the OTA link below to download the theme straight to your BlackBerry.

nortel

Some people take no for an answer and walk off the court know they lost.  In this case, RIM won’t let its loss go, as they are still hanging on to Nortel for cancelling their bid and inheriting it over to Ericsson.  Lazaridis was found testifying before an emergency sitting of the industry committee reviewing the sale of Nortel’s patents and technology. “In my view, the Nortel transaction, as currently structured, is not in Canada’s interests,” said Lazaridis well after their bid was denied.

For those unaware, Nortel filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. and Canada in January after the company failed to secure $1 billion from the feds to survive long enough to bring its fourth generation LTE wireless technology to market. About a month ago, a joint court decision in both Ontario and the U.S. state of Delaware approved the sale of Nortel’s technology to Ericsson, the Swedish telecom giant that bid $1.13 billion for the assets.

RIM’s co-CEO insists that selling the assets to an offshore company would be as damaging to Canada as “allowing the AVRO Arrow project to fail 50 years ago”. He is requesting the federal government to use the Investment Canada Act, which basically calls for a review of foreign takeovers valued at more than $312 million, to then see if the deal is in Canada’s interests or threatens the security of the country itself.

IMG_0421

Found on the BenezBlog, we saw that they have gotten their hands on a BlackBerry Storm 2 device, giving us a better idea as to what to expect from the device by taking these great angled images.  Click here to check out more images of the BlackBerry Storm 2.  We have had images of the so-called Storm 2 as a 9550, but it appears this is GSM version.  The Storm will finally make its way to carriers such as T-Mobile and AT&T Wireless.

bb9700 charcoal

It’s been a very exciting past couple months seeing BlackBerry devices release like hotcakes. This quarter, we closely followed the BlackBerry Tour 9630, Storm 2 9550, and the Onyx 9020.  Up on AT&T’s inventory appeared a BlackBerry 9700 which excites as all in knowing there is an upcoming BlackBerry device via AT&T very soon to release.   Over a week ago, we gave you the inside scoop on general specs of the 9700.  It looks like it is confirmed to be a device of charcoal color as it says in the description.
