I don’t see how or why the trackpad on your BlackBerry Curve 8520 would need to be changed already, but in the event you have to change it off-warranty, or get another one with another color (whenever the manufacturers will release that), this video could come in handy. After seeing this clip, you’ll realize how changing the trackpad/trackball has become more and more difficult overtime. The 81xx and 83xx were simple as you could do it easily with your fingernails. The there came the Bold and Curve 8900, requiring the whole device to disassemble. Hope you guys find this entertaining and educational. Enjoy.

It’s not BlackBerry.com or anything going down, but we all know how well Twitter users and BlackBerry devices go hand and hand. Currently Twitter is experiencing lots of issues, as far as loading and communicating properly due to a DDOS attack. BerryReview posted a very informative image, giving you the broad picture of what a DDOS attack does exactly and how it works.

Here you can see that there is a main source attacker which then routes to several handlers, and form those handlers, an infinite amount of bots get sent out the “victim” (Twitter in this case). If you are still experience or not experiencing problems, let us know and drop a line.

An interesting concept was exemplified here as Buzzd goes ahead and surveys its application users, ending up with incredible results you won’t beleive. If you’re not familiar with Buzzd, it’s an amazing app for BlackBerry (and other devices) that tells you what’s going on around you as far as bars, clubs, restaurants, and things of that nature. It’s one of those apps that go further beyond its text descriptions. To get a full idea as to how the application works, you have to download it for yourself.
Any way, going back to the survey..

One of the greatest themes you can get for the BlackBerry Curve 83xx series is right here. If you’re browsing via desktop, make sure you check out this interactive video below on how the theme moves and operates. It’s fully animated like you’ve never seen before and the best part about it is that it is absolutely free. This theme is only for the BlackBerry Curve 8300, 8310, 8320, and 8330. Special thanks to for providing this theme. You must have OS 4.5 to download this theme. The OTA is available below the video. Enjoy.

It could be the end to the touchscreen dilemmas RIM has faced previously with the BlackBerry Storm 9500/9530. Seeing them go for this patent makes me lose confidence in the upcoming 9550 as TruePress may not be all what it should be if RIM is going through all this. So after seeing these sketches you may think that RIM has it all figured out and the touchscreen has been compromised. Wrong. The first issue is that capacitive displays are very expensive, far more than resistive ones. The second issue is accuracies and precisions with the resistive touchscreens.

Most BlackBerry devices today have built in GPS receivers, but there are those out there still rockin’ the 8100/8120 pearl, 8300, 8800, or even an 8700 Berry. Bluetooth GPS receivers are known to be a minimum of $70 or more but here we see an amazing deal from 1saleaday.com giving them out for only $19.99.

The folks over at CB got a leaked screenshot of what is supposed to be the Vodafone UK inventory screen. Within it is displayed the BlackBerry Curve 8520. As you can see the 8520 is rapidly going to many carriers as it is a cheapest BlackBerry on the market, becoming a big advantage for them as well. Pricing has not been confirmed as it remains as a “0″ value on the screen. There is no release dates listed but a significant date for 03/08/09, which is basically 08/03/09 in the US. Stay tuned for more details.
