After the recent release of the basic BlackBerry Curve 8520, Verizon was rumored to be getting the device close after. Will it have WiFi? There are no specs currently released for the device but we don’t expect to see WiFi as the only “promise” we have so far is the next generation BlackBerry Tour by Verizon. But to get back to the inventory, it appears to be coming in two colors, but not your average black and white choices. Strangely it seems that it will come in a lavender color as the code written is “LAVEND.” If anyone can think of any other color that rings with LAVEND, let us know as to my non-artistic knowledge, it remains to be lavender. Secondly is surely and thankfully black color, as “BLK” cannot be debated in any way, shape, or form. Again, there are no other details out about hte 8530, but it will be a short matter of time until leaks start to generate.

Look at it as an alternative media player for all your BlackBerry’s music. Sure the native BlackBerry media player is nice, but this app is a lot more responsive with easier movement to it. Benefits? It can come really handy when running on the treadmill or some other physical activity. From our own experience, it is everything Unsynced has promised to give. Personally, the native BlackBerry media player is good, but just not suited enough to compete with other devices’ media players such as the iPhone.

Got what it takes to build BlackBerry apps? Verizon is looking to release its own BlackBerry applications so it is looking for developers like you to share your ideas, or “apply” them rather. So what’s the catch? The grand prize winner will claim $50,000 in prize money; 200 percent of the app’s V CAST Apps revenue for one year (with a maximum limit of $100,000 on top of actual revenue); and a featured spot in the carrier’s V CAST Apps store, which is expected to launch some time this year. The applications must obviously work on the BlackBerry Storm as well as it is Verizon’s main device being the only US carrier to have it. Check out ApplyYourIdeas.com for more info.

The BlackBerry Curve 83xx series is starting to get just as nice themes as its older siblings as you can see. Silver Techno is a great theme to have as it isn’t your standard bottom/side dock theme with stock icons. This one gives you your icons going with the groove of the picture in the background. It is absolutely free for download and is only for the BlackBerry Curve 83xx series which included the 8300, 8310, 8320, and 8330. Special thanks to kriz_93 for providing this great theme.

Special thanks to BarbieW for creating this great theme. As she put in the description, “if you love the ocean, you should like this one.” The theme is all blue with incredible ocean views and graphics. The lock screen shows you some sea animals floating there with coral reef all around. The icons match perfect as their colors have been darkened to a deep blue color making it still clear and easy to navigate around. This theme is only for the BlackBerry Curve 8900. The OTA link is available below the screenshots. Enjoy.

We all expect to see the all new BlackBerry Bold 9700 in action via AT&T stores by the end of the quarter. Everyone is fearing another delay on the release of it here in the US as we had experienced the tragic incident with the original BlackBerry Bold 9000. Seeing that it is continuing to appear in databases and charts via AT&T keeps our heads high and confident that we will be seeing the device soon enough.

Verizon Wireless is bringing back that incredible buy one get one free offer where you purhcased a BlackBerry and got the second one free after activation. So what’s the difference this time? The deal now includes any other device of equal or lesser value that Verizon retails to its customers. Basically that means that new Verizon subscribers or those willing to sign up with new two-year contracts are eligible to receive a free netbook with a BlackBerry Tour smartphone due to its prices. The Tour costs US$199.99 after Verizon’s rebate, and the least-expensive netbook Verizon sells is the HP Mini 1151 NR, also priced at $199.99. Good deal?
