5 Free BlackBerry Applications you should download

Everybody needs BlackBerry apps. There are many versions of the top 10 BlackBerry applications all over the Internet so we’re not going to bother going through the standard Google apps and basic ones that are listed endlessly everywhere. After analyzing all the overhyped and played out applications we decided to put a few together that you will definitely find in handy that you many not have heard much about in the past. Here’s a list of five great apps along with brief descriptions and OTA download links that we felt were truly useful.

1.) Buzzd

Buzzd is an incredible location-sensitive city guide and social network for the mobile device. buzzd answers the question, “What’s going on around me right now? ™” by allowing consumers to get up-to-the minute information on what’s happening at any bar, club, or restaurant right now, rate events and connect with friends and other people in the area – all through their mobile phones. Next we have BBTran which can come really handy, especially for those who travel a lot and need to get certain words or phrases translated right on the spot. It is definitely an easy-to-use on-line multi-translation application that helps users to translate words, phrases and does a dictionary lookup. BBTran supports more than 59 languages (Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish etc.) and more than 2000 directions of translation. This application is pretty much self explanatory so we’re not going to get into extreme details. Forward, Reply and Edit allows you to edit emails and forward them or even reply to others with it. It’s one of those applications that actually acts more as a plugin if you ask me. To download this app over the air (OTA), point your BlackBerry Browser to www.bberryapp.com.

4.) BuzzMe

Here’s another awesome application that once again acts more of a plugin but allows you to customize many features through an incredible interface. BuzzMe is an app that lets your BlackBerry ring and vibrate at the same time which seems to be the missing cliche in the device. So what else? It lets you play around with your LED light, changing it to different colors for different actions on your phone such as calls, text messaging, etc. In this free version, only the ringer can be customized. You can purchase the full version as well to get more attributes, but this app does wonders as a freeware download. The application we’re showing you here is of course the free version. 5.) PortaServer

This free application for BlackBerry will take it to the next level. Basically what it does is turn your BlackBerry into a file sharing server giving you a unique IP address and password to access any content on your BlackBerry including the microSD card. No wires are needed as you will only need to have a WiFi enabled BlackBerry to use it. That’s right. This app will host your server wirelessly so that various people can download information off your BlackBerry simultaneously with no wires over the WiFi network.
