We’ve been testing out various Defender Series OtterBox cases for past week and wanted to exemplify how great of a case it is and why purchasing it is the best bang for your buck.  Generally the Defender Series line goes for $49.99 for most newer and popular BlackBerry devices and others being $39.99 or so.  In our video above you’ll see a quick demo of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 getting a makeover with the Defender Series cover.  To clear up all confusions, the Defender Series case by OtterBox is a 3 layer one as we show you in the video.  Click through below to get the full scoop on all the layers of the OtterBox and a more in depth experience as to what it can do for you.

Above is a simple picture showing the front and back after the OtterBox is placed on your BlackBerry Curve 8900 with a legend in the middle pointing out some general specifics.

The first layer that comes over is thermal formed protective clear PVC membrane which covers the keypad.  Confused by its name?  In basic English, it’s a clear cover (without all the annoying adhesive substance that makes your phone sticky) that will wrap right on the the keypad of the Curve 8900 firmly which protects against sratches and dust intrusions.

Next we have the hi-impact polycarbonate shell that protects the BlackBerry against drops and shocks.  This hard shell is unlike any other case you’ve seen.  You’ll know what I mean when you’re putting yours on your Berry.

Last but not least, is the high quality silicon skin that will absorb from bumps as well as shocks.  At the same time it is fashionable and covers all over the hard shell making your BlackBerry look really nice, yet industrial.

But that’s not all.  The device comes with an incredible belt clip holster.  Yes, it has your magnetic sensor in the clip so you can keep your in and out of holster settings just fine.  The clip is also industrious as your OtterBox so don’t even sweat it.

What we liked mostly about it was the fact that it still provides easy access to all your ports including your micro-USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, BlackBerry convenience keys (on both sides), mute button, and lock button.  I know, it’s amazing to see all of that still functionaly through all three layers of the Defender Series OtterBox.

Below we put together some nice stock images (courtesy of OtterBox) of how the Defender Series will come out on your BlackBerry Curve 8900.
