What a way to start the day with an unexpected OS release for an unexpected device.  Alvarez over at BBOS gave us some great news this morning in regards to the leaked OS out on the forums.  It was very unexpected to see the OS leak out for the BlackBerry Pearl Flip series, but it’s nice to know that there will be a larger variety of the BlackBerry smartphones getting it.  The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 is a CDMA device which released earlier this year for Verizon Wireless in the US.  It is originally based off of the 8220 which released for T-Mobile originally well before the BlackBerry Bold 9000, not doing so well.  This is a leaked OS of the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 OS, ranking at version 5.0.0.230.  Download and install at your own risk.

We’ve seen pretty much all the ins and outs of the BlackBerry Storm 2 with all its incredible features and all the improvements from the missing links in the first original BlackBerry Storm.  Well, we didn’t exactly get all its ins, so here’s a picture of the BlackBerry Storm 2′s insides revealing its raw hardware.  The folks over at BlackBerry Zone went ahead and took it completely apart and took this open face image of it.

Awhile back, we told you about 7Digital linking up with RIM to create a music store right on the BlackBerry.  As promised, September is here, and the 7Digital Music Store is now available for free download over on the BlackBerry App World.  The awesome app lets you browse all the latest music charts, preview endless amounts of the latest music out, and best of all, allows you to purchase and download high quality MP3 music right to your BlackBerry.  WiFi is completely compatible as you’ll have faster download speeds when activated.  The application also has its own integrated media player you can use over the native one that comes with your BlackBerry.  It supports headset, speaker, and Bluetooth audio streaming support.  You won’t find this on the top newest apps on the App World as this is a soft release.  Unspokenly it has been put into the BlackBerry App World, but hasn’t been exactly “celebrated” to the public yet.  So what are you waiting for?  Head over to the BlackBerry App World today and pick up your copy.

This is nothing compared to CaseMate’s $20k case for the BlackBerry Curve 83xx which was covered in diamonds.  The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is seen here wrapped in solid 18-carat yellow gold and encrusted with 4,459 custom cut diamonds that amount to about 28.43 carats.  It’s obviously a limited edition BlackBerry as it is not a typical off the shelf retail item.  The maker of this device spent 350 hours building this one single case.  So with this trendy blinged out BlackBerry, you can have your name or company logo on it as well which is included in the price.  In addition it comes with 24 hour global concierge service that focuses on “accessing the inaccessible” as we are all baffled to what that might mean.  The one displayed was a custom order by a gentleman in the Middle East.  The maker Amosu only plans to sell 3 of these in total, so one down, two more to go.  Interested?

This is a very unique and incredible service I must say.  HippoPost released their mobile version HippoMobile which allows you to take photos from your BlackBerry, and HippoPost will send them out as a postcard to all your family and friends.  The service is absolutely free so expect some advertisements on the postcards as well.

It’s hard giving up and sacrificing all these applications when switching to OS 5.0.  There was a long dilemma with Facebook, MySpace, and pretty much every official IM app for awhile but those have all been resolved.  How about Google products?  There hasn’t been much attention from Google towards the big movement to OS 5.0 yet which can really disappoint some due to the growing rate of the leaked OS getting installed on BlackBerry devices.  With that being said, you are all aware that Google Sync does not work with BlackBerry OS 5.0 at all.  The device just won’t take it.  Some folks over at the BlackBerry OS forums have tweaked it to make it work on your BlackBerry equipped with OS 5.0 smoothly.  The OTA link is available below.  Enjoy.

The BlackBerry Bluetooth headset we all remember appears to be very fashionable and comfortable on the ears.  Its popularity didn’t spread as planned due to the huge market of Bluetooth headsets and the enhanced attributes they contained.  RIM has just put up a new headset, styled differently than the first generation and smaller in size.  ShopBlackBerry has it listed for $79.99 but it is still not available to purchase.

Our buddy Eric from Obstacles Can Kill wrote an interesting article about an application available on the BlackBerry App World known as “The Flashlight.”  It is no secret that this application uses your camera’s light as it states it in its own title.  Eric went ahead and pointed out some punch lines thrown out there by the “app makers” that proved itself to be a waste.
