Obama bans texting & driving while working for the government
by The PocketBerry Team
As we all know, the BlackBerry started off as a business/corporate emailing device which later became universal for everyone who favored the technology at all times. Government officials are very well known for rockin’ out BlackBerry devices and messaging back and forth on them on the job. It is affirmative to agree that they probably are doing so behind a steering wheel as well which calls for all sorts of danger. During the summit held by the Department of Transportation which sole purpose was to eliminate distracted driving, President Obama signed an order that will ban federal workers from texting while driving government issued vehicles. Not only that, but employees and officials using their own non-government vehicles as well but still on the job will be prohibited as well from text messaging while driving.
“This order sends a very clear signal to the American public that distracted driving is dangerous and unacceptable,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said. “It shows that the federal government is leading by example.”
