They are known as the BlackBerry Bandits for their crazy scheme they pulled off. Three young adults between 22-23 years of age are currently facing larceny charges after they created fake accounts with Verizon Wireless so they could get BlackBerry devices. The prosecutors say that the suspects sold the devices to another man who then sold them on eBay in auction and “Buy It Now” formats. He is being charged with receiving stolen property of over $250 which doesn’t seem like much so far. So the overall loss? The estimated loss of the phone fencing game has been valued out to be more than $600,000 according to the prosecutors.
