One of our favorite BlackBerry accessories yet has made its way to us and we’re completely satisfied with them.  OtterBox is famous for providing maximum protection for cellular phones.  Of course BlackBerry models are included among their famous products with three great lines.  We reviewed the Defender Series for the Bold, Storm, and Curve 8900 in the past.  The Defender Series is their highest end product where it consisted of a three layers.  Now we present you the Commuter Series cases which just launched last month.  The Commuter Series consists of two layers, one being a silicon, and the other a hard shell plastic that goes around.  A screen cover is included as well to protect from scratches.  The nice thing about it is that it’s very slim, but still gives you very good protection.  Video reviews will be releasing in the next few weeks, but we had to give you a quick tutorial on it now in advanced just in case you’d like to get some extra protection for your Berry right away.  We got a few gallery shots below which I personally just took now off our high-tech MacBook.

You’ll see in the first thumbnail how the Commuter Series consists of two layers.  The one on the bottom is the hard shell plastic, which is a bit flexible to an extent and then the top portion you see is the silicon case wrapped around the Storm.  After wrapping it up in the silicon cover case, you’ll clip it right into the hard shell to make it all complete.  As you can see, buttons on the side are still accessible, and quite easier to press if you ask me.

As for a comparison between the Defender and Commuter?  The Defender does give maximum protection to the BlackBerry, while the Commuter does an excellent job as well.  Many prefer to have their BlackBerry devices as slim as possible and that’s where the Commuter Series works to that best benefit.  It’s very slim and doesn’t add lots of extra chunk as the Defender Series cases will give extra weight as well as thickness.
