Memory leaks are annoying for everyone. Continuous applications and themes release each and every day causing these tragic incidents. RIM has went ahead and posted how to get around having memory leaks when creating applications on the BlackBerry Developer Blog. Maybe this will be an end to battery pulls and we won’t have to rely on applications such as QuickPull so much. Continue reading to see the full post from the BlackBerry Developer Blog.

Many were having issues running Pandora on the BlackBerry using OS 5.0. As many of the devices haven’t received official versions, it was still taken in consideration that BlackBerry owners downloaded it and installed it at their own risks. So head over to Pandora.com from your BlackBerry Browser and get the latest update.
Here’s a note from Pandora:
“Good news – we just put up the new Pandora 1.1.2 update for 5.0 operating systems including Storm 9530 on 5.0 and the new Storm 9550. Other non-5.0 devices will have to wait a few days before it will be available while we finish testing, however most of the changes in 1.1.2 are to support the 5.0 OS.”

With the device only released for a day, a new OS has already been officially released. Surprised anyone? The BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 has been in testing for quite awhile but it’s good to see RIM is taking care of its issues in advanced rather than waiting til folks complain about them. Here is OS 5.0.0.320 for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 via Verizon Wireless.

Let’s all think outside the box right now and put ourselves in a regular consumer’s mind rather than the average BlackBerry addict that stays loyal to his or her devices. The original BlackBerry Storm 9530 was brought to Verizon Wireless exclusively as I am sure many former BlackBerry users gave it a shot, but also others who wanted the touch screen (perhaps iPhone) experience. Now we have the Droid by Motorola coming to Verizon Wireless, making it the first Android based device.

It looks like Twitter has just added a Lists feature to their main site where you can organize contacts in a buddy list format. Aside from this being oh so convenient, we’ll be missing out on the feature through BlackBerry applications such as SocialScope, UberTwitter, Tweeteev, and so forth. Expect Twitter applications to get updated in the next few weeks, equipped with the list feature.

How clever! RIM’s punch line in this commercial is “who says lightning never strikes twice?” That’s a great cover up for the 9530 if you ask me. Here is the first official BlackBerry Storm 2 commercial we have seen yet. It only took until the launch date for it to release.

Before we get into any general specifics, we would like to put it out there to Verizon that they must free their BlackBerry devices’ GPS receivers. We tried Garmin GPS on a BlackBerry Tour 9630 the other day and were disappointed in seeing that the device was blocking the GPS from being accessed through the application. Of course there have been alternative downloads for Verizon BlackBerry devices for GPS applications such as aMaze GPS, but we’d like to see more GPS freedom from the carrier in general. Today we see Google Maps being equipped with turn by turn GPS navigation for the Android platform. As you all know, Google Maps for BlackBerry updated the other day. Like fools we jumped up and down in excitement of the new features, when here we see that it has been transformed into a free navigation system program for the Android. There were several reports over the blogs today that Google could be in developing a GPS navigation application for BlackBerry, but nothing is official. Slap in the face or application development in process? We’re hoping that Google is cooking something good for the BlackBerry.

Do you own a Vodafone BlackBerry Storm 2 9520? If so, you’ll be able to update the OS to 5.0.0.306 through BlackBerry Desktop Manager. This is an official OS update, but for some odd reason, it is not available for a .exe download whatsoever. Upon plugging your Storm2 9520 in and launching BlackBerry Desktop Manager, you’ll see that an upgrade will come up and prompt you to install.

Combine the blocks and the bombs of the same color to explode. The more blocks you explode the more points you get in a single explosion. If the blocks fall outside of the squared box, the game is over. The place where the blocks fall, is controlled with slide movements(left or right) on the screen. The game start very slowly, but with the time the fall starts to speed up!! In the begin you have time to get a lot of points, creating big explosions, but in the end you just want a place for the blocks! The game supports portrait or landscape mode.
SlideBlocks comes as both a freeware game along with a full version including more features.
