For some reason, Verizon is calling its BlackBerry Curve 8530 the “Curve2″ as T-Mobile calls it just the Curve 8520 as it is their third generation Curve. Here’s a leaked flyer we found over at BGR, leaked from Verizon showing that the new Curve will be coming soon. On this flyer we see the BlackBerry Storm2 which will be launched in every Verizon retail store in North America as of October 28th. We showed you guys some ins and outs on the new Curve2 that is releasing for Verizon Wireless, exemplifying its differences between itself and the 8520. Get on the flip to see the other flyer.

We were all so baffled in the middle of the night as we found that Google Voice went through an update. There was no change log found at the moment but we saw that the Google Blog did indeed show what was new. You can enjoy using your personal phone number with the Google Voice service by having the application handle all your voicemails.

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is appearing on BlackBerry OS updates on Verizon Wireless but it looks like there are no official updates released for the device. We didn’t expect to see anything come up as the device hasn’t make its walk down the red carpets of Verizon retail stores just yet. The time is coming soon as we count the last 24 hours before the launch of the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550.

We got the 9520 OS leak a few weeks ago but it looks like the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 took its turn in getting a leak as well. Here is OS 5.0.0.287 exclusively for the 9550 Storm 2. Install at your own risk, and download while you can as this is a leaked version so links can go dead at any time.

It’s a really huge tease to get all hyped up when a BlackBerry app gets an update, then find that there are no changes you can see at all. Google Voice just got updated to v0.1.6 with no change log attached or anything. If anyone sees any differences let us know, but I highly doubt there are any physical changes to it. Most likely it is a back-end update fixing connection issues that people were having perhaps, but of course there are no promises when there is no change log.

The release of OS 5.0 was exciting for many of us as it brought many new features and look to the BlackBerry Bold 9000 as well as other devices which were fortunate enough to get the update. These were all leaks so far of course so we did install it taking the risk of having a “BrickBerry” in the end.
The last 5.0.0.238 update was lots of fun, but in this last .314 version, it looks like a lot of nice changes were made. We’re not going to go through the obvious OS 5.0 features, but more on what the .314 version brings. First, we see that the indicator for SMS has changed in color and is no longer blue as it is now a yellowish color. There was too much confusion when getting notified before as both BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) and SMS messages were in blue color. Now that it is all differentiated, confusions get pushed out of the way.

So the going rate for the device is $179.99 from Verizon Wireless for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550. The original Storm 9530 went for $199.99 for the two year contract so as a courtesy, Verizon has bumped up the device to $279.99. To top it all off, there will be a $100 mail-in rebate for the Storm 2, making it only $179.99 in end of the day. So which would you rather have? Is it the BlackBerry Storm 2 at $179.99 paying $279.99 up front, or $49.99 up front for the Storm 9530 which will have OS 5.0 on it? We got the full attached rebate form for you. Continue reading to check it out.
