As we learned at the DevCon, RIM announced the planning of providing other means of purchasing items on the BlackBerry App World. Now it is primarily through PayPal, but by 2010 we will be seeing carrier billing capability. What does this mean? Basically you can purchase an item right through BlackBerry App World, then have it added to your monthly phone bill. Benefits? It’ll be a simpler way to purchase items now, especially for those who do not have PayPal. And as for the bad side, children with BlackBerry devices are going to have a field day downloading premium apps while mommy and daddy will have to take care of the 3+ digit bill payments at the end of the month.
