Launching the BlackBerry services in China has been a mission for quite some time.  China Telecom, which is the smallest of the three major carriers in China is looking to expand itself by adding the BlackBerry to its market.  Currently one of the other carriers China Mobile has the iPhone which seems to be very popular among citizens of the country.  In June, China Telecom approached RIM in this venture, but there are no specific details on the matter yet.  China Telecom plans to bring the BlackBerry over as well as Palm in order to create a competition of some sort against the other two carriers, especially China Mobile with them pushing out the iPhone.
