Usually our BlackBerry Celebrities section shows actual celebrities rockin’ BlackBerry devices. Well we strongly believe Homer Simpson is a celebrity too and deserved the spot today. By looking at the BlackBerry in his hand, it seems like it’s a 72xx series. For those unaware, the 72xx series BlackBerry was when RIM targeted towards business consumers strictly, before the camera was ever introduced (to the BlackBerry that is). Which BlackBerry would Homer Simpson get next, given that he is eligible for upgrade?

The time has come, as AT&T finally gets in with the 85xx series BlackBerry Curve. First we saw it hit T-Mobile with the 8520, then Verizon announced it with the 8530, and now AT&T wants in on the action, announcing the 8520. Don’t expect 3G and GPS as Verizon’s 8530 provides. Look at it more as an exact replica of T-Mobile’s 8520 which is strictly WiFi running on the EDGE network. The device will run you $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. After a few of playing around with the long forgotten BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, we realized a really cool feature. When receiving a new BBM, the contact’s picture shows up on the front screen, and then loops to what the message is. Using the right side volume keys, you can rotate between the messages you receive if there are multiple ones or navigate back to the regular clock that displays. Pressing the right convenience key will allow the message by that contact pictured to be displayed. Anything your impressed by on this device? Drop us a line and let us know.

As rumored months ago, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 was getting different chrome bezels for each carrier. That was to our knowledge at the time, but it looks like T-Mobile themsevles do indeed have both light chrome bezels and dark chrome bezels. This isn’t an option you can choose in person, but chances are if you go in person to a T-Mobile store, you can perhaps pick up your own kid if the sales rep is nice enough to open up boxes for you. If you are a T-Mobile rep, or know how accurate this information is, drop us a line and let us know!

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 has become the biggest hype to end 2009. Was it worth the hype? Absolutely. Tips & Tricks »

As most of you should know by now, visual voicemail is now available from T-Mobile. With these easy steps, you can install visual voicemail successfully on your BlackBerry.
1.) First start off by making sure you have OS 5.0 installed on your BlackBerry. So far the OS is only official for the BlackBerry Bold 9700, so if you have any other device, you have to download a leaked version and install it. Of course, do so at your own risk as you know by now that these are not official updates from RIM and are leaked releases.
2.) After installing the OS (and enjoying all its great features) head over to my.tmobile.com page, login, and feel free change your device to the BlackBerry Bold 9700 even if you are currently on an OS 5.0 BlackBerry Curve 8900.
3.) Next, head over to “Change Services” and you’ll spot a Visual Voicemail option that is absolutely free to activate. Obviously enable visual voicemail, and save all changes before leaving the page.
4.) Everything should be good to go after a nice battery pull and service books sent.
