It’s going to be an exciting week as today starts the BlackBerry Developer Conference in San Francisco, CA. You thought Verizon and Vodafone were exclusively getting the BlackBerry Storm2 for the time being. It turns out, other carriers such as Telus will be getting the device by the end of the month. As there were rumors for an HSPA device to be released, it is going to be rockin’ EVDO and WiFi. So the exact confirmed date appears to be November 24th, which doesn’t seem to have much doubt in it as Telus was never that far off like others are (not to mention AT&T’s Bold 9000 delayed release).

The BlackBerry was formerly a strict business emailing device at one point in time and obviously just didn’t fall into the hands of every day consumers with basic wants and needs. The device’s popularity spreads across the world favoring anyone who has the rights to an email address or just wants to stay “connected.” It also could of spread to social networking addicts who prefer to be notified live when comments and messages are sent on their MySpace or Facebook. So how do people get started on the BlackBerry? Did you receive one at your job and crave one personally? Did your friend hand you your first device and influence you into blogging about them? Or perhaps you had a PDA previously rockin’ Windows Mobile or an iPhone and gave BlackBerry a shot. We want to hear your stories! Drop us a comment and tell what influenced you all into getting a BlackBerry!

This photo was taken a few weeks ago before the carriers launched off the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Celebrities were given the device to flare around and walk on the red carpet with it just to hype up the device. Here we see Tara Reid smiling like she’s at a Colgate event. Perhaps she is indeed excited to receive the BlackBerry Bold 9700 or it could be good for morale. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen her look this decent, don’t you think?

It looks like a great day for AT&T as the FCC has approved the sale of Centennial Communications at a nice price of $944 million. “The addition of Centennial will enhance AT&T’s assets in wireless — a strategic priority and one of our biggest growth drivers — and service for customers of both companies,” said Ralph de la Vega, president and chief executive officer of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “We’re excited to give Centennial wireless subscribers access to the nation’s fastest 3G network plus our premier lineup of smartphones and unmatched portfolio of applications and services.”
So what does AT&T have in mind exactly? AT&T plans to use Centennial’s networks and products with AT&T’s networks and product portfolio. The basic mission is to extend AT&T’s network coverage, mainly in areas such as Indiana, Lousiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas. Puerto Rico coverage would be enhanced as well.

Many Berry users are just too native to the device that “alt L G L G” is too much to handle when viewing the event log. If you are annoyed by the procedure and would just like a simple application to do so, then Fancy Log is what you need. There’s not much to cover on the application as all it does is open your event log at the press of the icon, instead of doing the “alt L G L G” command. Within the event log you can clear it all, view each individual one or even debug it. If you are a user friendly BlackBerry user and insist on download the app, just use the clear log option where it will clear the event log allowing your device to pep up in speed a bit.
