Bw homescreen view

We just got some teasers in for the all new BerryWeather 2.0 which is expected to release sometime this weekend or next week.  There aren’t much of any details on the application except that there are a lot of new and sexy enhancements as you can see by the screenshots.  What we found to be pretty cool was that you could use it as your background image on your BlackBerry, seeing the weather all the time with the little details and general specifics of the day’s weather.  Images are starting to leak all over the web now, so it’s not much of a secret any more.  Will you have to pay for the next version even if you had the previous one?  We don’t know yet, but this isn’t the first time we see that happen so expect to bust out your wallets just in case.  Special thanks to Jill for sending this in.  Stay tuned for more info.

FDGO_Blackberry_340x500

We just received a tip email informing us that a Fandango application will be coming to BlackBerry soon.  Convenience in that? Absolutely.  Getting tickets can be really hectic, especially when the movie is a huge hit which is bound to get sold out quite fast.  Having the Fandango app will eliminate having to log in to a computer or any other web browser platform to purchase a ticket.  Months ago we got the Ticketmaster application which also eliminated having to use a PC or Mac to purchase tickets.  Fandango will act at the same convenience for you, probably even more since it’s for movie theaters tickets rather than just event tickets which you might not be attending as often.  Any way, with the app you’ll be able to check movie times and purchase your tickets all from your BlackBerry.  So the next time you’re running late for a movie and stuck in traffic, whip out your BlackBerry and purchase your ticket remotely to save time.  The application is coming soon with no due date to be exact just yet.  You can register on their site to be informed when the application is available.

Last week, we gave you the all new Seesmic app for BlackBerry, which is a famous Twitter client that evolved from being on desktop PCs and Mac to mobile.  Who remembers Twixtreme?  For those who can’t recall, it’s another Twitter client for BlackBerry.  If you’re sick of using the same application and would like to switch it up a bit, check out Twixtreme.  It may be the perfect application for you.  Just in, Twixtreme has made itself available on the BlackBerry App World, which will enable it to become a more popular common app to use for your BlackBerry Twitter fixation.  Head over to the BlackBerry App World today to download.

landing-blackberry

Earlier yesterday we came across the New York Times mobile application, but only to find out that the new Bold 9700 and the Storm2 are not compatible with it just yet.  Currently the supported devices are the Tour, Storm, Bold 9000, and 8900.  So yes, we had to dig out our BlackBerry Tour 9630 to test out the application.  So far so good.  The app acts very responsive and has a nice layout to it.  Get all your news live on the New York Times App for BlackBerry.

space ace

Looking for some classic arcade action games?  This is as old school as you can get with that.  This action packed game Space Ace takes you through outer space shooting up aliens and dodging their plasma balls while your outer shields protect you from evil ships attaching. With each level, the challenge to stay alive becomes more difficult as the enemies become faster, stronger, smarter, and greater in number. With each new game, try to beat your high score.

Designed for the BlackBerry Storm, you control your ship with the accelerometer and can play in portrait view or landscape view. Four options for firing to increase usability: Click Screen, Right Convenience Key, Left Convenience Key, and Send Key. The game also works with any BlackBerry with a trackball.  Today it is on sale for only $1.49, making it 50% off.

ebayapp1

The application is still in beta, but is available for full download in the BlackBerry App World.  Over at DevCon, we were promised to see this application by November, so here it is as eBay and RIM have not disappointed us in this.  One thing we were all impressed by was the “my eBay” interface as it works super fast and easy to navigate.  Generally the whole application shifts back and forth very smoothly.  When searching for an item, results show up in seconds (even on the EDGE network).  What would we like to see? A function that allows you take the picture from your BlackBerry camera, then after doing so have an option “Send to eBay” just like we have for Facebook, MySpace, and UberTwitter.  Imagine becoming a eBay Power Seller all from your BlackBerry.  Why not?

sendx

Here’s a unique app with some nice attributes that’s absolutely affordable and cheap.  Sendx lets you send call logs, SMS, email, and PIN messages to other BlackBerry apps.  In addition you can send events to the task manager and task within the BlackBerry calendar also.  It’s one of those good utilities that work more as add-on options than they are applications.  As a Deal of the Day special, it is only going for $1.49 today.
