To celebrate the hit movie that made everyone go wild, here’s a free Twilight theme if you still can’t get over it.  The icons are all Precision style with some color added to them.  The battery meter and WiFi indicator are both shifted to left while the Bluetooth indicator and service bars have been moved to the far right.  The time and date are shown on the right side, closer to the middle in a unique font you’ll be sure to love.  This theme is only for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the BlackBerry Tour 9630.

blackberry-curve-8330abc

This isn’t intended to educate you that the BlackBerry is better than the iPhone or anything.  That information is obvious and comes easy to us Berry users.  Here is a quick reminder that the BlackBerry Curve is still the number one seller as of last quarter, says Bloomberg’s report.  The BlackBerry Curve 83xx series is one of the most popular for many reasons.  The first is affordability.  Carriers have managed to lower the prices of these Curves quite low, making them free with contract is some places.

Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis suggests that the BlackBerry is the king of all smartphones.  In a recent interview with the folks over at Computer Woche, he explains why the iPhone is not topping the BlackBerry device.  Lazaridis says how folks “however, tend to easily forget that we have tailored our portfolio to different market segments.”  When you think about it, RIM is catering its devices to every type of customer.  Whether it be a multimedia guru looking to load tons of music and video or a corporate CEO looking to email away, RIM has put out a device.  In this day in age we see both touch screen and QWERTY buttoned BlackBerry devices released while the iPhone provides only a single touch screen device, with slow and small updates down the road.

Telstracopy

Australian carrier Telstra has just joined the team in getting the BlackBerry Bold 9700.  Ready for the bad news?  The device is going for a not so easy 999.99 AUD which is about 917 USD.  It looks like the carrier is not subsidizing whatsoever on the device as you pay for it in full (plus tax).  Financing the device is an option as well so you can feel free to pay for the Bold through the length of your contract. In the end of the day, it’s not that great of a deal at all.  I’m curious to see what they would offer on the device for a Black Friday promo.

bb media sync

The all new BlackBerry Media Sync has made its way to us finally.  As you can see the BlackBerry just keeps getting more and more entertainment/media oriented which is a great turn around from being just an old man’s email device.  BlackBerry Media Sync 3.0 releases today with some pretty cool features.  So what’s new in this version?  Syncing has changed up a bit.  There’s a two way sync option which allows you to add folders dedicated to syncing to the BlackBerry as well as “optimizing” or resizing pictures for your device.  So what’s the big deal about that?  It basically saves you memory by downsizing photos so you don’t have waste all that space and slow your device down.  Another cool feature is the Media Sync alert which lets you know when there are new pictures available to import to your BlackBerry.  This occurs when resyncing your BlackBerry to your PC.

storm2 os

With the BlackBerry Bold 9700 taking all the spotlight on OS updates and leaks, it’s finally time to switch it up a little.  The BlackBerry Storm 9520 gets an OS update today, leaked of course, which you should download and install at your own risk as it is not an official download.  We have no log on changes made in this OS, but if you do bump into any drastic changes, drop us a line! This is the unofficial leaked version of OS 5.0.0.341 for the BlackBerry Storm 9520.  Enjoy.

bbsimulators

Many of you might be quite baffled as to which BlackBerry device to get given that we’ve had an exciting 4th quarter with a few new models released.  Well after the BlackBerry Tour 9630 was launched, we immediately started seeing leaks on the BlackBerry Storm 9550 and 9520.  After its October launch, we immediately saw images and teasers of the BlackBerry Curve 8530, which was also from Verizon Wireless.  Then later in November, T-Mobile took the spotlight with all the BlackBerry Bold 9700 coverage and the confirmed release date.  As soon as the T-Mobile Bold 9700 released, we immediately got the confirmation from AT&T as they were silently releasing it almost, not publicizing it as much as they should have.  Below we have all three simulators rounded up for all the curious folks out there interested to switch to a new BlackBerry.

The BlackBerry Bold 9000 seems to be the preferred choice of many celebrities.  As you all can see, many of these celebrities (both male and female) are always seen holding their BlackBerry devices with a coffee or soft drink of any kind in the same hand.  Even if it’s Paris Hilton rockin’ a huge purse.  We’d be sure to see the BlackBerry at hand.  I guess we all need to stay connected at all times.  In this picture we see Kristen Cavallarie enjoying a Jamba Juice drink from what it looks like, with her BlackBerry Bold 9000 in the same hand just incase she gets emailed that the new Van Wilder film will be featuring her or that CSI: New York wants her back for another episode.
