Indonesia gets Bold 9700 exemplifies a good relationship with RIM once again
by The PocketBerry Team
It’s not exactly hot and fresh out the kitchen news, as this happened toward the end of November. The reason we’re talking about this is because the incident a few months ago where Indonesia was close to putting a ban on incoming new BlackBerry devices, due to RIM’s lack of concern in setting up a service center for the devices. Now we see the BlackBerry Bold 9700 release in Indonesia, which could only mean that all the RIM beef has been squashed officially in Indonesia. We haven’t heard anything about any service centers opening. The last we heard was that RIM immediately responded to the matter, but no exact promises were made. Now that all the Berry drama has been settled, citizens of Indonesia can continue having new BlackBerry devices. Of course well after the problem we saw Indonesia removing the ban because of RIM properly responding and the country even got its first CDMA BlackBerry so things seem to be going smooth. but it all just sort of faded out.
