For the past hour, I’ve been playing around with this awesome new app that just came the App Store.  Before we get into the app, all I have to say is that it’s about time we see a BlackBerry tweaking up (done right that is). SmrtTweak is a must have application if you’re looking to customize your BlackBerry in ways the manufacturer prevents you to.  We can start off by going with the BlackBerry Storm.  It get’s annoying having your screen unlocked when making a phone call which causes all sorts of disasters including placing the call on mute.  What ends up happening next? Your buddy can’t hear you and then you’re under the impression that your Storm is wacked out.  SmrtTweak can set your BlackBerry to automatically lock the screen when making a call.  Not on a touch screen device?  Your keyboard can get locked too if you desire.  Saving your battery is also important to you.  With this app you can set your BlackBerry to automatically dim the backlight during calls.

Another cool feature is that you can schedule power on and off individually for each and every day of the week.  When your battery is low, you can set it up so that it will turn which ever connections you want off.  Even if your battery isn’t low, you can schedule connections on and off individually for each day of the week as well.  So what else?  Hourly chimes between certain times, flashlight feature (there are apps that do that alone ranking at $2.99 and such), setting LED green when charging, setting LED red when battery level is low, and much more.  For all that this application can do for you, it’s only $4.99 to purchase.  So far we’re obsessed with the app (or me personally at least) just because there’s so much you can do with it.  Make sure you have hours to spare just to touch up on all the features and customize them to your BlackBerry.
