The famous social application buzzd is going through a nice update releasing tomorrow.  So what’s new?  Now with buzzd you’ll have the ability to socialize.  And by socialize we mean you’ll be able to see what others have buzzd in the feed section and view pictures and profiles of other buzzd members.  In addition, you can add and invite your friends from any email address including Gmail, Hotmail, and AOL.  The buzzdmeter is a pretty cool concept where you can sort everything by categories (bars, clubs, restaurants, etc).  You can update your Facebook and Twitter statuses based on your buzzd venue right then in there all in the same applcation.  Rating has become a lot easier as you’ll simply give a thumbs up or down for the place.  One of the coolest features we saw in it was that you can see who’s at your favorite spots at the time, so you’ll know if you should go in advanced.  So expect the application to release tomorrow at 10am.  We’ll be sure to give you a full hands on once released.  Hit the jump for the full press release.

(NEW YORK) – December 23, 2009 – buzzd, the real-time social city guide for your mobile device, is now available on Google’s Android platform. The buzzd network compiles information from its base of over a half-million users, Twitter, and other real-time sources to provide users with activity updates for almost half a million venues across the United States and Canada.

Both the new Android service and updates to all application platforms are available at http://www.buzzd.com.  buzzd’s Android app is stacked with all popular features of its iPhone counterpart including the “buzzdmeter” – a real-time measure of activity at popular bars, restaurants and nightclubs in your city.   With the buzzdmeter, users can see the places with the most real-time activity (the buzz) in their city, neighborhood, and even activity within walking distance or the block they’re standing on.

In addition to buzzd Android, the company has launched new versions of its iPhone, Blackberry, mobile and PC web versions, enabling Facebook and Twitter integration. buzzd’s new mobile web version has been redesigned for quick venue searching and real-time feedback on venues.

buzzd now offers:
-The ability to socialize: see what others have “buzzd” in the feed section, view photos and profiles
-Add/Invite your friends from any address book including Gmail, Hotmail, AOL and others so you can easily share your buzzes
-Sort the “buzzdmeter” by category of places – bars/clubs, restaurants, other venues
-Post the buzz at a venue and seamlessly update your Facebook & Twitter status
-Rate a venue with a thumbs up/down
-See who’s at your favorite spots and be in the know before you go

“The buzzdmeter has become the core feature of our app, cross-platform.  Simple and elegant on the front-end, we solved a technical challenge on the back-end to search, index and present hundreds of thousands of pieces of real-time content from Twitter and other sources.” states Deepen Shah, co-founder and CTO of buzzd.

buzzd is now available as a downloadable application on iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, and Blackberry.

The service is especially optimized for: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Bronx, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Houston, TX; Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; Montreal, QC; New Orleans, LA; New York City; Oakland, CA; Philadelphia, PA; Portland, OR; Queens, NY; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA; Seattle, WA; Staten Island, NY; Toronto, ON; Vancouver, ON; Washington, DC.
