Why not? Sure the BlackBerry is an emailing device but sure is entertainment.  From playing music and watching videos to buying and downloading games, the BlackBerry becomes universal for anything you desire.  So we had quite a gaming experience when it came to the BlackBerry Curve 8530.  As it wasn’t anything near th Storm 2 9550, the Curve 8530 still gets some credit.

So as a quick overview, some games we went through were The Dark Knight, GT Slots, GT Blackjack.  On a side note, GT Blackjack did work at first to the menu, then received an “uncaught exception error” and hasn’t been able to open since.  After deleting and reinstalling, the same instance happens.  We even reinstalled the OS as well where the problem still exists and did not even work on the first trial run.  As a fan of Blackjack, I was quite disappointed.

Batman is another one of my favorites.  I decided to download The Dark Knight from the BlackBerry App World for $4.99 and give that a shot.  As BlackBerry graphics aren’t that high and the game itself was not demanding, it worked great on the Curve 8530.  The buttons are really comfortable to use as all the game keys are based of the number pad.  One thing we noticed was that the Bold 9700 loaded The Dark Knight faster than the Curve 8530.  We’re all aware of the processor and memory differences between the two, so it’s not news to us at all.  The loading time difference is only an extra few seconds (sometimes plus tax) but it’s nothing that would bother us or inconvenience our gaming experience.

GT Slots was just a boring game for me to be honestly.  We were actually so aggravated about Blackjack not working, that we tried Slots just for giggles.  The game worked fine as it has no graphic demand what so ever and is very limited as far as movement goes.

And BrickBreaker, how could we forget? The all new trackpad doesn’t make it difficult at all to play BrickBreaker.  If you’re thinking about difficulty, then the Storm 1 and 2 is where that came in play since it was all touch screen.  Given that the trackpad works just like the trackball (almost), then you won’t notice a difference at all when playing BrickBreaker.  We’re not going to get into the whole game play as you all know how the game goes..

That’s pretty much it for the gaming experience.  We’re not seeing any crazy Open GL graphics here or anything, but even without the bells and whistles, the Curve 8530 can provide a nice gaming experience for users like you.
