Yesterday we talked about the new Viper StartSmart application for BlackBerry that will be shown off a bit a CES in the next few days.  A while back we told you about the Chevy Volt applcation for BlackBerry which will give you full control of the vehicle’s options.

Starting your car via BlackBerry is obviously one of the features included as well as seeing all sorts of battery levels of the hybrid.  You can lock and unlock your vehicle at the press of a button too which seems a bit scary if your device was stolen.  With that said, it’s time to start setting a password on your BlackBerry if you haven’t already.  There’s a lot of other cool features on the app you have to see for yourself, such as setting times to charge the battery and how you’d like to charge it.  The video shows the app get demoed on a BlackBerry Storm 9530 which is great to see it’s not only for the Storm 2 9550 and 9520.  Continue reading for more including the video link.

The application is going to be offered free.  So what’s the catch? You must be subscribed with OnStar to be able to use any aspect of the application for the Chevy Volt.  Not to say that a lot aren’t already subscribing with it, but it’s something you need to know ahead of time so you’re not taken for a long ride to see the small fine print at the bottom.
