Fido gets locked and loaded for the BlackBerry Curve 8520
by The PocketBerry Team
Wow, didn’t the BlackBerry Curve 8520 release oh so long ago? It sure did. Yes, there are other Canadian carriers who have the BlackBerry Curve 8520, but other than being branded, Fido will offer better pricing for their products and services. Who’s their real competition here? From the look of it, Fido is looking to compete with Virgin Mobile to get its BlackBerry customers.
Just as a quick history lesson, Fido added its BIS services last year with the BlackBerry Pearl 8100. To pump everyone up about it, they released their pricing plans a little bit before the device’s release. That did not bring enough people in as people wanted to see more than just the Pearl. As we all know, the BlackBerry Pearl is not for everyone due to the obvious SureType keyboard. Then we were later rumored that the Curve 8900 was to release. That ended up never happening and it just resulted as faded news which folks just forget about. Fido hasn’t been on top of its BlackBerry game yet, and adding the Curve 8520 (finally after the rest of the world’s carriers rock it) could influence customers to get in on their BlackBerry services.
