Here’s a great way to promote your business. How about when your on stand by at the car wash while your car is getting cleaned? Use your 2D barcode scanning capabilities and save this location to your BlackBerry. In the image above, a local car wash close to our facility in New Jersey had this huge sign displayed where it says “We’re a favorite place on Google,” marking a spot on the map and displaying a 2d barcode in the lower right hand corner. Seeing things like this makes me wonder if business cards will be exchanged any more, or are we just going to put Berry cameras to screens to obtain information in seconds. Special thanks to Swiss for sending this in!
Fyi, if you guys were curious as to what the barcode revealed, click here.

Back in February, RIM acquired Chalk Media which called for all sorts of new services and features coming to BlackBerry. Now we see Chalk Pushcase Software for BES announced from a few days ago. “We are building deeper integration between our award-winning solution and the BlackBerry platform – the corporate standard for enterprise mobility – to deliver a truly secure, easy to manage solution for pushing impactful training, compliance and corporate content to BlackBerry smartphones,” said Jody Glidden, Director at Chalk. “With this combination, Chalk Pushcast Software is significantly raising the bar for secure mobile learning for business.” Continue reading to check out the full press release.
OS Updates »

A few days ago, several carriers including Optus Mobile released OS 5.0.0.411 for the BlackBerry Curve 8900. Days later, Optus Mobile has released another build ranking it at 5.0.0.661. We don’t have a change log for this, but if you’d like to download it, go right ahead as it is an official OS.

Special thanks to Moe from T-Mobile for sending this one in. BlackBerry reps for T-Mobile are dropping these BlackBerry hand sanitizers around retail locations as they go in for check-ups, maintenance, and all that other fun stuff they do. We wanted to obtain one from the T-Mobile kiosk but managers are demanding that they stay there on location and may not be taken off the premises. Calm down lady, it’s hand sanitizer.
How would you use this stuff? Off the top of my head, I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve needed to use my BlackBerry but couldn’t due to dirty hands (mostly from eating like a pig). Having the BlackBerry Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer Spray at a time like that would be very savvy.
So what’s RIM’s intending with all this? Are their retail store representatives not washing their hands? We wait to see the BlackBerry Shampoo and Conditioner Kit. It should be coming to your local Sephora next to Kiehls and Jack Black items.

According to Data Outages News, there will be scheduled outage on January 17th. Of course, no where on Rogers website can we find anything about this but the news is floating around as CrackBerry has posted about the matter as well. The note by Rogers is as follows:
“Work Summary: Rogers customer with Blackberry devices may be unable to send or receive messages during the maintenance. They may also be unable to register their device, roam in another location, or use other services such as Internet browsing. At the same time, BlackBerry Enterprise Servers may be unable to connect to the BlackBerry Infrastructure during this maintenance.”
I wouldn’t get too worried as the scheduled outage will be between 2am-6am so in best hopes most will be asleep.

This bad boy does a lot of damage. Being brought up using auxiliary wires and tape deck-to-3,5mm converters makes me appreciate technology like this. Blue Ant is famous for providing high end Bluetooth products such as headsets and speakers. This M1 speaker gives you superb sound quality, wireless too, without having to connect any wires between your BlackBerry to the speaker. Bluetooth 2.0 is supported on the Blueant M1. Not using your BlackBerry or other Bluetooth device? Then yes of course, you can be old fashioned and plug in an MP3 player of iPod to the port. Any Bluetooth A2DP device is compatible so that includes phones, PDAs, PCs and Macs.
The M1 can be used completely wireless as it has a built in battery. Don’t worry about buying new ones because a wall charger for it is included. If you’re looking for maximum audio quality and a low affordable price, then the Blueant M1 is the speaker for you.

Druglord Wars, which is also known as Dope Wars or even Drug Wars is an awesome game. Maybe I’m a little late mentioning, but this game rocks! I’ve played the TI-83 version in the past but never gave the BlackBerry game a chance. In reality the game is lots of fun, and the colors, graphics, and overall gameplay is incredible.
- Unlimited gameplay mode to see how far you can take your drug empire
- Global online leaderboard to compare your skills to the world
- 17 different drugs to buy and sell in 11 beautifully rendered cities
- 16 different weapons and storage containers to take down enemies and hold more drugs
- Over 100 custom designed images
- Save games and preview progress before resuming
Druglord Wars is on sale for only $1.49 til January 19th where it’ll get bumped back up to $4.99 again.

It looks like she had a little bit too much.Last seen in the past few months was poor Lady Gaga walking around with a red BlackBerry 88xx. Either way, I’m glad someone finally broke the bad news to her that pop singers don’t look cool rockin’ corporate devices. In this picture, Lady Gaga is allergic to camera shine and shows the world that she now has a BlackBerry Bold 9000.
Leaving the BlackBerry 88xx series and going on to the Bold 9000 is a very easy transition. For starters, the keyboard is pretty much the same, and the size of both devices are very close to one another. Many of you ask, why wouldn’t she just switch to the 9700? First off, it might not of been available when this picture was even taken. Secondly, there are a lot of BlackBerry users out there that prefer the Bold 9000 over the 9700 because of its large sized screen and keyboard.

It’s a simple card game. 3 Card Poker is very light on the BlackBerry memory, so don’t worry about memory leaks and such. The key of thumb by the game creators is “Before you try your hand at winning real money, practice with this free version of the game.” I agree. Don’t hit the casino til you think you’re ready! “The idea is to beat the dealer’s hand or get a bonus hand or both. Remember, practice makes perfect!”
Compatibility: 7130c, 7130e, 7130g, 7130v, 8100 (Pearl), 8110 (Pearl), 8120 (Pearl), 8900 (Curve), 8930 (Curve)
