Our friend Eric over at Obstacles Can Kill has just released one of his famous themes to the PocketBerry Store that we posted here over a week ago as an early bird freebie.  Don’t bother trying to go back to download it, because the link is no longer active! For all those who are unaware of the theme, it is been influenced by Mac OS X and in my opinion, looks sexier than it.  The theme is unique as it gives you 4 home screen icons, one of which is folder where it reveals a few more customizable apps in a pop up window.  The best part is the lock screen where it looks just like the Mac OS X login screen.  All the icons are very clean and sleek, and be prepared to launch this theme with full speed as you won’t have any lag or memory leaks here.  Sure you’ve seen many OS X themes out there, but have you really seen one with an exact replicated top bar as Mac OS X itself?  Usually icons are ripped and background images are changed, but this theme is  brilliant and rich with exclusivity. Grab your copy today at the PocketBerry Store for only 99 cents as it is on sale til January 11th.  After that, it will be bumped back up to $5.99.  Hit the jump for more screenshots, compatibility, and store link.

It’s always a good sign when we hear rumors of a device releasing at a certain time, and then see inventory screenshots of the device appear around then as well.  That is what”s happening here.  The BlackBerry Tour 2 9650 has been rumored to release sometime in the beginning of 2010, which we are currently in that period now.  Seeing these inventory screenshots showing the Tour 2 can only mean that Verizon is prepping itself up for the device’s release.  We don’t expect it to see it this month just yet, but it will be coming soon.

Slacker is showing off their services at CES too.  Over the past few months we’ve seen them evolve and become so big that they are now standard in all Verizon BlackBerry smartphones.  They are soon releasing a 3.0 version which allows cached stations.  The way it works is quite interesting.  We all know that you need an SD card for your BlackBerry in order to use Slacker Radio.  When caching a station, you’ll be able to sync it by selecting the “refresh cached stations” options.  From what the beta testers over at Cnet are saying, it took a few minutes and is recommended to do over WiFi.  It all sound great until you find the small fine print saying that you’ll have to subscribed for the monthly subscription of $4 per month to use this service.  Have no fear, Slacker Radio 3.0 will be hitting BlackBerry App World in the next few weeks with a free trial.

Still confused? At the BlackBerry Developer Conference, we were teased about the LinkedIn application for BlackBerry.  We saw screenshots but were never given the actual hands on experience.  In this video you’ll get teased further seeing all its ins and outs.  From the look of it so far, LinkedIn is becoming more social network friendly and interactive with this handy dandy application, and that’s their mission.  The LinkedIn application for BlackBerry is expected to launch sometime in the next month or so, according to the LinkedIn booth people.
